Emerald Eclipse

May looked out the large window. "I'm ready to go" She appeared to be floating but she set her feet back down on the floor as she turned around, she was in a bed room. There were white walls with floral decor on the edges and grey carpet. May walked over to a small grey backpack with white wings on the back and slung it around her shoulders. May had lower back length ash brown wavy hair and striking green eyes. She was wearing a long grey long sleeved shirt that covered over her behind and long leggings that reached a few inches away from her ankles with black converse. She walked out the door of her room into a large living room with beige walls and marble flooring. She then turned away and walked out her front door into a large garden with a large gate in front. "Good luck on the Hunter exam May-sama!" A woman working in the garden near the flowers yelled. May looked up at her and gave her a warm smile and a thumbs up. Once May walked out of the gates a black car was waiting for her. She opened the door and entered. Inside was a man with blonde slicked back hair and pale green eyes and a tux. "Hello father, if you came to change my mind it's no use" the car started moving " I do not wish to do that honey, just please be careful" he paused"please" his voice cracking faintly. May was genuinely shocked at her fathers empathy, she always thought he was an emotionless man. "I I will I promise" the man searched around his pockets" here" the man handed her a small black box. May slowly opened it inside was a flat silver ring embroided with small emeralds along with a silver chained necklaces with a 3D emerald flower as a pendent. "The ring will help suppress your powers Marissa wanted to hand you that necklace. It was your late mother's" May slipped on the ring on her right middle finger however holding the necklace in the hands staring at it intently." Since you might not return we wished to give this to you. Good luck May and please stay alive for your mother and I" she put the necklace around her neck and looked back at her dad. He placed a hand on top of the girls head and smiled softly. The car stopped. May got out of the car without a second thought in front of her was the airport. Before she new it she was in front of a huge wall towering hundreds of feet in the air. She looked up in awe then back at a large crowd in front of her. Before her were a bunch of odd looking people most likely taking the Hunter exam. One person caught her eye, he was a small boy about the same age but she wasn't sure. He was wearing green shorts and a green long sleeved shirt with a brown backpack and a fishing rod sticking out of it.' Why a fishing rod' May looked curiously at the boy's so called weapon. Her body then dragged itself to the young boy she didn't know why though. "That's quite an interesting choice for a weapon" she gestured to the fishing rod "Oh my name is May I'm twelve" The boy looked her way with big eyes. "My name is Gon nice to meet you I'm twelve too" a white haired boy showed his face "And this is Killua he twelve too" I stared at the boy named Killua "yo" he looked back at me. I waved slightly.'strange he has white hair he almost looks like Anikata ' "I never thought there would be kids my age here" I was kinda shocked that they were my age the boys didn't say anything Gon just looked over to me and smiled. "Everyone" it was a loud man who called over. "I am the first examiner Moto follow me" on the large wall there were big doors that opened and everyone started walking in. I followed Gon and Killua, Kurapika and Leorio were introduced to me as we walked in. There were huge hallways that split into 3 sections we stopped at the intersection. The examiner was wearing a tux he looked like any other person you'd see he had purple eyes and short brown hair and glasses. He told us to get into groups of no more than 5 so I just joined Gon. Our objective was to find one blue card, survive, and make it to the maze within a week. We were walking through the maze when we heard growling "d did you hear that" I nervously said stepping closer to Gon. Gon stopped and sniffed the air "There's an animal nearby" he just confirmed my worst fears. I had never really been comfortable around them in fact scared almost. Everyone tensed up. We kept on walking as it became dark "It's getting dark I think we should stay here for the night" I looked up into the sky it was twilight and the sky was clouded with dark blue. "I agree" Kurapika spoke in a monotonous tone. It was settled then. We had been walking for god knows how many hours since the exam started. I slid down the side of the wall with my back and I let out a relieved sigh. I stretched with my arms in the air yawning and slouching next to Gon. I took off my backpack and let my body slide onto the floor my hands behind my head and I stared up into the clouded sky. I looked to my right and saw Gon. He was sleeping his face towards me. I felt something strange in my chest. I tried waiting it out but it didn't work and all I could do was stare at Gon 'Why was he making me feel this way...why do I feel this way' I thought as I turned my body to face Gon's sleeping face. I lightly bopped his nose making him cringe his nose alittle bit making the feeling that was already in my chest stronger and slowly I drifted off into a deep slumber. '"Mother,farther why can't I go outside" a little girl with brown curls asked to her mother and father sitting in front of her. The mother leaned forward and placed a hand on her head her face covered by a shadow "We need to keep you safe sweetie, there are many people out there who want to hurt us and take you away from us and we don't want that to happening" the little girl looked up at her mother the little girls eyes being flashed by a horrific seen. There was blood everywhere a woman was laying down on the floor clutching a small box. Her hands were bloody and so was her chest. There were many gash marks on her body. A little girl laid there kneeling next to the woman tears forming in her eyes trying to make sense of what happened to her dear mother' May shoots up in a sitting position noticing that she is sweating. She breathes heavily tears running down her face as she feels arms wrap around her body. She leans into the arms slowly sobbing after a while the person releases her. Gon was sitting in front of her with a very concerned face "May are you all right?" The boys lips moved but May wasn't paying attention all she could focus on was the picture of her mothers dead body. "May" the boy's voice broke her thoughts tears were streaming down her face although her eyes were emotionless "huh what umm y yeah I'm ok I I just need time to-" her words were cut off the boy wrapped his arms around her once more as she then again sobbed quietly digging her face in the boys shoulder. "It's ok" the boy quietly spoke into the girls ear. The girl shivered slightly her chest tensing up she griped the boy harder pressing her body against his. 'He's very warm' she felt safe in his arms like a mothers hold she then slowly drifted off into sleep
