Ch 1: Fast Times at Leva High

The song is Dance of the Dead by Secrets

*Ace P.O.V.*

"Ace!! Hurry up or you're going to miss the bus!" My mom yells as I take one last look at myself in the mirror. I nod my head approvingly at how I look with my dark blonde hair, blue eyes while wearing some cargo shorts and a black t-shirt with a skeleton face on it. I walk out of the bathroom and yell to my mom downstairs.

"I'll be down in a second, calm down!" I go into my carpeted room and grab my red backpack near my glass pane desk. I walk out of the room and head downstairs. Once there I see my mom working furiously in the kitchen making food for someone.

"Here take this I made it for you" My mom says as she goes into the fridge and grabs a brown paper bag and a bottle of coke. I grab the bag and throw it into my backpack as I grab a couple of packaged waffles. I put my shoes on since today after being in this new town for month I have to attend school. Yay...... no, I'm not too stoked to be here as I don't really want to be here in the first place. This town is a grueling couple hour drive away from my hometown. As I walk out the door my mom calls to me

"Ace! Have a nice day!" I wave bye to her and as the door closes I let out a sigh and put on headphones while waiting at the bus stop. Once the bus arrives I silently get on and sit down and space out on the bus ride. After walking into the main areas of the school I notice the halls are alive with the noise of many students conversing with one another. Walking through the halls I search for all of my classes and by the time I had finished finding all of them it was time for me to head for my first class. As the first bell rings I take out my headphones and put them away for later use.

I walk into my history class and I take a seat near the back. While the rest of class files in and converses with one another, the only one who said nothing was the boy a desk away from deeply invested in the book he is reading. His brown hair lays flat on his head while he wears red t-shirt with a yellow flower on it and some cargo shorts with athletic shoes.

"Can I help you?" He asks me without looking up from his book. I jump back in my seat startled not thinking he was noticing my presence.

"Sorry, I was just curious as you seem to be the only one besides me not wrapped up in a conversation" I explain to him.

"Well if my friends were in this class then I would be speaking more" He says to me and before I can reply the teacher walks in and class begins.

"Alright guys today we will be continuing our projects. Ace since you are new here just use this time as a study hall" The teacher commands. I pull out a book that I have in my bag and continue reading it, I haven't had time to read it so I am rather happy to have some time to read it. After about a half hour of reading the boy next to me turns to me and asks.

"You like it?"

"Ya so far its amazing" I tell him.

"Trust me on this, it gets even better than it is now, I can tell what part you are at" He says to me.

"I hope so" I say back to him.

"I mean I have read that about three times now"

"Three times? I don't think I have ever read a book more than once" I tell him.

"Well when you only have a couple books to read, you end up rereading the same ones over and over again" He explains.

"Well that sort of sucks"

"Ya tell me about it. Although I can say I am happy because I recently got the sequels to it and there as good as this one" He answers me. After that the bell rings and he silently gets up and leaves moving on to wherever next.
