I awoke to the sound of my alarm clock, beeping trying its hardest to wake me. Methodically, I rolled out of bed when I remembered, today is the day. Today, I am stealing the crossword puzzles that have been sealed away for decades.
A wave of adrenaline floods my body, I want to dash to the basement as fast as I possibly can, but I must me sneaky. I get ready for school I toss on a black cardigan over my black and white stripped shirt. I proceed to open my bedroom door, am I forgetting something? Ah, my jeans, oh how could I forget my pants. Quickly, I slip on my jeans and continue my journey.
I danced down the hallway and past the living room when I heard my mom call, "Cieclia! Don't forget your big game is today! Call me when it's about to start, okay?", only mom, good. Dad would kill me if he caught me sneaking into the basement.
Finally, I reach my destination, I take small, painful steps, wincing at each creak. All is going as planned, I tiptoe to the chest and check for locks or alarms. Reluctantly, I flip open the lid to find some dusty news papers.
I picked one up and flipped through until I spotted the crossword. I looked it over, and to my surprise, they where incredibly simple. I took it upon myself to try it out, I found an old, crusty, eroded pen and started filling it in. Riddle by riddle, letter by letter, I finished. Upon looking it over, I discovered a miss-spelled word. I reached to etch it out but I became slow and my vision turned blurry. I quickly reached for a nearby chair trying to steady myself. Involentarily, I yelp for my mom and I saw her hovering over me before I drifted off. I am still aware that I fell as- no, I knocked out, but im not dreaming, either. I pinch myself, no pain, I try again, and again, and again, and yet again in hopes that I am alive. I'm I dead, am I laying in a hospital bed now, how long have I been gone if I am dead? Questions flew in and out of my head. "Hello?", I heard a little voice squek. I try to get up but there is so much force pushed upon myselff. I wonder if this is what deep-sea diving is like. Lessons from the previous day echoed through my head. There was so many things that I have not experienced yet, never know, and i'll never get to tell my friends good bye. "Is anyone here?", the little voice questioned. I managed to turn my head, darkeness. I turn my head the other way, still, darkness. A sense of lonlyness swept over me, will this pass, will there be more so come, does heaven and hell even exist? Is my fate being decided? No, I thought me fate was pre-determined. I hope i'm not stuck in this desolate, lonley, place forever. "Please. help me?", the voice with more ergance now cried. Suddenly, I realized I wasn't alone. I became more determined than I have ever before to simply move. I tried bending my leg, and suprisingly there was less pressure. I sat myself up with considering ease, I should take this slow. No, i've got to see if there are others here.
