So Harper is a little different than everyone else ;)

ENjoy!

~Harper~

Even up in the attic, in the tiny corner, Harper could still hear the argument.  They reached a new record, 3 months, before blowing up.

She didn't need to be next to them, in order to know what their fights were like.  3 months of verbal taunts, subtle jabs, and silent lies.  3 months of a house full of sly whispers, fake smiles, and hidden secrets.

Now they yelled and shrieked, they punched and slapped, they shoved and kicked.  Harper would later see the broken glass, the walls studded with cutlery, the cuts and bruises.  Up in the forgotten attic, she couldn't see it any of it.

And regardless of whether she was hidden up here or standing in the midst of their tantrums, none of them could hear the shattering of her heart and hopes.

Foolishly she believed that her lost family members would return, and their family would be knit back together, a picture of perfection and love.  Foolishly her mind and heart wouldn't let go of her crazy hopes.

She stayed up in the attic for hours, looking through pictures of her family, that she was supposed to have forgotten.

Yes I know it's super short, like only a few hundred words.  But Harper's POVs are always gonna be a little different b/c she is a little different... :)
