True Self Challenge/tag (long) life story

Start from the beginning

My mom was so afraid that if someone found out what was going on with our school situation we would be taken away and put into foster care.

So we could never go anywhere or talk to anyone, so I never made any friends because I couldn't go anywhere or talk to anyone or meet anyone.
Any person (usually an adult) that I did once in a while end up meeting, I would have to either lie to them about school or avoid the subject like the black plague to protect my family and keep us together because we needed each other. (My younger brother has a form of autism and he wouldn't survive on his own much less in foster care)

Eventually, we did end up finding a house to rent for a year (finally!!!) And it was always one thing or another that kept us from catching up with school.
(This year isn't quite as important as the others though and this is getting long so time skip!)

We of course ended up having to move again the next year but this time it was to an acreage just outside the city and it was perfect.

My mom had always wanted to live in the country and so had i, it was almost like a dream come true and we felt we could live there safely without having to worry about people finding out about school and we could catch up without having people poking around and risking me and my brother getting taken away. My dad had gotten a better job, money was coming in and things finally started to fall in place.

It was my moms dream to live on an acreage because she wanted to set up a business to earn money so we wouldn't be so helpless all the time. And our landlord for this place agreed to let us rent to own the house because we were unable to buy it right away.

It really was a lovely place but there were all these weeds that needed to be cleared in order for her business to start, it was impossible to pull them up by hand or even with machine ( because they were a type of shrub weed)

So,

To get rid of these pests, my dad decided to do what's called a "controlled burn" with fire.
He had done it successfully before when he used to live on a farm when he was younger. So he wasn't worried about it.

There was absolutely NO wind so he thought it was safe. The fire started and everything was okay at first....until the winds changed.

The fire went out of control and the fire department had to come and control it. There must have been 4 fire trucks at our acreage it was that big.

I had never been so scared in my life. My dad was in the middle of it trying to keep the fire away from our house until the fire trucks got there and I remember seeing flames burning 20 feet high (Thats not an exaggeration) in the air right next to him and my heart just about stopped. It's a miracle he didn't get hurt or have his lungs severely damaged from smoke inhalation. Or any of us for that matter.

So in case you're wondering, the fine for starting a fire was over 4,000$ (money we certainly didn't have) so eventually my dad had to take a job that paid better money in another province because we didn't want to be homeless again.

The house wasn't damaged at all and it was just a extremely large brush fire so the property was still okay and my mom still wanted to buy so we stayed there for about 4 years trying to rent to own.

In the last of the four years we stayed there my sister moved in because she had gotten pregnant and had no where to go because her boyfriend dumped her and it was to hard for her to live on her own.

She was also going through a lot of health problems too. She has a degenerative disease in her ear and she's slowly going deaf (she's already completely deaf in one ear) So when the baby was born I was like a second mom to her...I put all my time and effort in to raising her and taking care of her because my mom was hurt and couldn't ways help and my sister didn't always know how to take care if her properly. So yep you guessed it. Again something kept me from school. For another year.
I kinda became a "mom" and part caretaker to my sister when I was 12.
