True Self Challenge/tag (long) life story

Start from the beginning

So for months my little brother and I weren't in school at all, and after a while my mom remembered that she still had some old "paces" (homeschooling books) from when my older three siblings were homeschooling at my age so my mom suggested that we try and use those until my dad could afford to get the curriculum. But the only thing was, they had already been used and quite a few of them were missing from the set. but it was all we had, so my brother and I had the painstaking process of erasing every single answer from every page. Because they were obviously pre used books and with these type you wrote directly into the books.
(I still remember how sore our fingers were after all those hours of erasing! Lol )

So now we had a few schooling books to work with and that was fine until we hit a major gap in the books that we had, and if I remember correctly my dad couldn't buy the remaining books when he did have the money because at the time he didn't have a credit card and you had to have one to buy them. That year is kind of fuzzy for me to try and remember because it was so long ago so I don't remember exactly what happened. But basically, we didn't get the books we needed.

My mom and dad didn't want us to tell anyone anything about this because she thought it could easily be fixed, we would somehow get what we needed to learn our grades, and my brother and I would catch up, piece of cake. No one needed to know...I guess it was to embarrassing for them or something like that and she had hoped we could fix it on our own.

So, now my dad finally had the money for school after almost a year of waiting. He had just gotten a credit card and we were all ready to go, but another problem came up.

The house we were living in had become infested with black mold.

At the time we couldn't move because there were no other houses available and our lease wasn't yet up. So now all the money had to go into fixing the house because our landlord wouldn't do it even though it was his house.

It costed around 2,000 Canadian dollars if I remember correctly.

The mold had made my mom very sick to the point where we didn't know if she would be okay. And the medicine to help her was also extremely expensive. So our school got put on hold again, but I didn't care all I wanted was to see my mom better and I wouldn't have had it any other way. And thankfully she now isn't sick anymore and I'm so thankful for that. :)

But now yet again we were broke and it was just unbearable to live in the house, it was to hard to breath in there because of the mold so we ended up tenting in the back yard and it was very cold.
Our relatives wouldn't help us because they either didn't have the room or they just didn't want to help and it was getting to cold to stay outside for much longer without getting sick and my mom couldn't handle it.

So we were forced to live in a motel Because we had no where to go. (And let me tell you, it was ridiculously cramped in there I actually ended up sleeping on couch cushions on the floor Because we were all (about 5 people and two cats) sharing one room.

So for almost two years we were forced to live in a motel with just me, my mom and dad and my two brothers. There were absolutely NO houses available and staying at a motel at about 100$ per night was sapping our money so quickly sometimes we didn't even know where our next meal was going to come from. (That happened quite a lot actually)

But once in a while the motel manager would be nice and take a night or two's pay off and let us stay for free because of our position so that helped.
(My oldest brother couldn't find a place to live either so he just came and stayed with us... And my two sisters were off living with their boyfriends.)

So with no schools in that area and us being so far behind we couldn't just go straight into a school with kids our age because we wouldn't know what the heck was going on and there was no way we could catch up on our own...and with no money to help us we were stuck for 2 years. (Plus the motel we were staying at wasn't near any schools anyways.) So by now this was getting very serious.
