I ignored her listening to my wolf can you still feel her wolf I asked desperately waiting for a reply I sighed in relief when he howled ‘she’s still breathing its barely there but she’s alive you should ditch the human if you even hope to get to our mate’ I growled at her and she climbed back on I pushed past trees heading back to the Pack house “Is something wrong with Abi?”
As soon as I spotted a glimpse of the house I tossed her off once more and took off ‘Abigail I'm going to save you , and I'm going to spend the rest of my life rubbing this damsel in distress move in your face for years to come I’ll even tell I’ll our sexily brilliant pups how amazing I was’
‘ how mate puts up with your humor at times like this I will never know, but you’re not even remotely funny’ I rolled my eyes he didn’t understand my defense mechanism it’s how I dealt with stress and losing my mate took my stress meter to a whole other level

My head spun and I open my eyes coughing profusely I'm still alive? How, how did that work I thought as soon as your lungs caved the world would become a distant memory and whatever was at the end of the tunnel would be waiting to greet you I never thought people got second chances … “ She’s up” a voice soothed me even though my lungs burned so much it was easy to focus on that melodious sound “ You’re a lucky one” my eyes wandered and I see dim sunlight peeking from willow trees “ I know you must be very disoriented but you’re safe, somehow you survived you must have one hell of a guardian angel doll”
dad I try to reclose my eyes from pure exhaustion “ Sleep when you regain your strength we’ll talk more”
I dreamt of Xander his hand caressing my cheek ‘ I’m coming for you sleeping beauty it’s good to know your still with me’ he smiled ‘ you both are’
‘ Xander I don’t know where I am how will you find me?’
‘ I’ll search the world if I have to, I want my Queen back’
‘Why don’t you just find a new one?’
He scoffed kissing my forehead ‘I’ll never find a girl who makes me smile like you so I'm not going to try I want you, and you I will have’

‘And you have my soul’ he kissed my lips letting go of my hand disappearing with the sunlight breaking apart my dream ‘ I'm always with you Butterfly’ I sat up slowly not entirely sure I was alive and in one piece yes my lungs were blazing and my head was incredibly difficult to support but maybe that’s how the afterlife worked maybe you had to work up to a perfect body
I stare once more trying to find the face that fit the voice I’d heard hours ago
“Looking for me?” coming face to face with a green haired boy with grey eyes was an abnormal sight but hey so is being at 5’4, 112 pound 18 year old who could transform at will into a overgrown dog life was funny in that way “ I’m Jeremiah, I saved you from the water’ he smiled extending a tan hand I eye it uneasily “ You’re a pretty one I wonder why anyone would try to extinguish such a marvelous sight, was it someone named Xander?” he tilted his head to the side cocking an eyebrow
I growl at his assumption how dare he accuse my husband of that! He raised his hands in surrender “You kept saying his name, beautiful one that’s all I meant by that”
I nod
“Can you tell me your name?”
“Abigail”
“Such a pretty name, How did you near the lake?”
“I was going for a walk” I reply hoarsely not sure how much this strange boy roughly my age knew about me or wolves “ Why did you rescue me, not that I'm not appreciative I just don’t understand”
“Your wolf called so loudly it broke my heart so I saved you” he exposed a mouth of canines I realized then he was a ball of sunshine nothing more nothing less he wasn’t the enemy I relaxed gradually
“I have to get back to the Riverside Pack”
“Ah so that’s the Xander you spoke of he’s the Alpha isn’t he?”
I nod
“So you would no doubt be his mate?”
“Yes”
“Why would such a powerful Alpha let his Luna go unprotected?”
“He didn’t know I was leaving”
“You were leaving him?”
“Not exactly, look its complicated do you think you could help me get back?”
“Of course beautiful one it would take nearly a month’s time you see we’re quite a ways from your home I was assuring your safe recovery after all “
I threw my arms around him “ Thank you so much Jer you’re a god sent”
He smiled “ Let us be on our way then we have a journey ahead of us”
