Chapter 1

READ MELANIN FIRST

RAE'S POV

"Rae and Braelynn hurry up! You're going to make us late for church!", My mom yelled up the stairs to us.

I grab my purse and my lipgloss, running downstairs to my parents and my little sister Braelynn. Braelynn is 12 and she is the biggest headache but that's my only sister and I love her to death.

I love my parents, and I must say, with the circumstances that they were given, they made the best out of it and they have given me the best possible life that i could ask for.

I know about my parental situation and I'm glad that Harriston, my father, stepped up to the plate and has raised me as his own.

I put on my favorite pair of shades and head out of the door with my parents and sister behind me.

"Hey Grandma, Hey Grandpa". Its after church and everyone has just gathered at my Grandparents house. They got back together recently after the tragic loss of Jessica, my grandpa's deceased wife and with the fact that my grandma's last relationship didn't work out so well. We do this every Sunday, we just eat and enjoy each other's company.

I went into the basement only to find all of my cousins as well as my Uncle Zay and Uncle Josiah.

I gave my Uncles hugs first and then my cousins, before sitting down on the couch next to Carter.

She sat her phone on her lap before turning to me, "So whats going on with you and Red?"

Red is a guy that goes to our school and he has a huge crush on me.

"I'm not trying to settle down with him or anybody else for that matter, Ima just do me and have some fun as I do it."

I know that you all might think that I'm playing him, but in my eyes I'm not. I'm just giving him the attention that he craves for before I move on to someone else.

"Rae you're a smart girl. I need to take some notes."

I know I might not be the ideal role model but the fact that Carter looks up to me not only as a cousin but as a god sister is amazing. She is the only person that I truly tell everything, I don't really make female friends because for some reason they don't seem to agree with my way of life.

Monday morning

"Red get out of my face, it is too early in the morning for you to be over here trying to run game on me."

"Man Rae quit playing, you know what I want, I'm trying to settle down with you. Don't act like you  don't want the same thing. I'm the quarterback of the football team, every time i walk down a hallway there's girls trying to get at me but I'm over here entertaining you and not them."

I thought about it for a second, "Okay, so my parents will be out of town for the weekend, they're going to Florida to visit my dad's side of the family and my sister is staying with my Uncle Josiah, if you let me wear your jersey at the game on Friday you can spend the weekend with me, Deal?"

He licked his lips before sizing me up, "Alright ma, that'll work." He touched my chin then backed up slowly, "See you friday ma."

I walked away before walking my last class of the day. I walked in and took my seat next to Jeremiah, "Who you texting Jeremiah?"

"Arianna."

"Arianna the cheerleader?" I asked shocked. I didn't know they talked at all and I was surprised.

He nodded his head before giving me a bag of hot fries out of his backpack, "But aren't your parents gonna be gone this weekend?"

I nodded, opening the bag and starting my work as the bell rung.

"You gone let me spend the weekend at your house?"

"See as nice as that may sound, Red's coming over this weekend so I'll have to pass on the family bonding".

"Rae you are not messing with him. I see how he is after the games and at the parties, he doesn't want you because he likes you, he wants you because he think's your gonna be easy."

I smacked my lips while rolling my eyes before I spoke, "Well maybe I want him for the same reasons."

HARRISTON'S POV

"Rae don't mess up this house. I don't want anybody in here unless they're family. Don't do anything that we wouldn't approve of either."

"Dad I'm not going to do anything, I have no plans besides going to the game to see Jeremiah play tonight."

"And if anything changes call me or your mother and let one of us know. I don't want to have to come back here because you don't know how to act Rae."

"And that won't be necessary, now go! Have fun and tell Auntie Tiara I said hi."

I kissed my babygirl on her forehead before going to the car to drop Braelynn off at Josiah's house to spend the weekend with his daughter Marley and heading to the airport with my wife.

I trust that Rae won't do anything but I really don't want to have to come back to Georgia early because of something she's done so I'm going to have Isaiah come check up on her every once and a while just to keep a look out.

"Good game Red!" I said to him as he walked me to my car  after the game. My parents bought it as an early birthday gift and I wasn't supposed to drive it yet but oh well.

"Thank you babygirl.", he said before kissing me on my cheek.

I smacked my lips while getting in my car, "Cut the bull, you coming to my house tonight to spend the weekend with me or what?"

He licked his lips, "Yeah ma. Let me go home and grab some clothes, text me your address."

I nodded before closing my door and driving off, heading to the store to pick up some food for the  weekend. Then I went home and showered, just after I walked out of the bathroom in my robe Red knocked on my front door.

"I'm coming!"I said running downstairs and opening the door for him.

"So you were ready for me huh?" He said pulling me in a warm hug.

"Nah boy come on tho, I don't want the neighbors looking for something to tell my parents about."

We went up to my room so he could put his clothes down and so I could put on some clothes.

I grabbed a  camisole and some nike spandex shorts only to see Red sitting on my bed as if he was watching me the whole time.

"Your parents know you got your nipples pierced Rae?" He asked while motioning me over to him.

"Nope, but what they don't know won't hurt them.", I walked up to my bed and he wrapped his arms around my waist before kissing me.

"Rae stop playing with me, you got me in your parents' crib when they not home, with this on." He moved his hands down. "Do you wanna be with me or not?"

"Let me think on that, but right now I'm just trying to focus on tonight."

And thats exactly what we did...
