What a day my love.
What a beautiful day my love.
The sky's are shining blue and gold,
the sky of the earth and the ocean mismatching,
blue and gold, waiting for you.
The flowers are blooming into yellows, and pinks
the daisies and daffodils, waiting for you.
The birds are a chirping, singing your tune
on the edge of their perches, waiting for you.
The children all standing out on the porch,
in a long line, all dressed in their best waiting for you.
All but the gods are weeping and still, waiting for you.
Deep in the garden the people all sit surrounded by flowers,
watching and waiting and silent as dead, waiting for you.
The gates swing, the people surge
a man sniffles, a baby cries
my eyes mist and storm waiting for you.
What a day my love, I wish you could see it.
Maybe you can,
maybe your here with your colors and music,
fighting the grief and the sorrow.
I wish you were here, putting an end to the waiting.
I wish you were here, singing and smiling in a sea of sorrow and grief
waiting instead for me.
