~Dan and Phil are 15 years old~
Dan wakes up to the sound of an alarm. He gets up and puts his fingers through his curly hair. "I need to straighten my hair" he mumbles. Dans mother knocks on his door. "Daniel? Are you awake? Breakfast is ready. Be quick or you'll miss the bus!" Dan walked over to the mirror and looked at himself, he was wearing just boxers. He went over to the dresser and grabbed his straighter and plugged it in. It was his mums old £12 one. Dan looked through his drawers and got out his uniform. Dan was soon ready for school and grabbed his bag. "Bye mum got to go!" He yelled as he ran out the door. "But what about breakfast?!" Dan ignored his mother and kept going. Soon he was at the bus stop, he put his headphones in. 10 minutes later the school bus came and picked him up. He walked towards the middle of the bus and sat down, staring outside. When Dan looked towards the front of the bus he saw someone getting on. He had mousy brown hair. The boy started walking towards Dan and asked if he could sit next to him. "Uh.. Um.. Do you mind if I sit here?" Dan looked at his face, his eyes were a beautiful blue. "Yeah sure sorry I'll move my bag." The boy sat down and looked ahead awkwardly. Dan was curious. "So.. Uh I haven't seen you around before. What's your name?" The boy turned around and looked at Dan. "Oh uh my names Philip, but I prefer Phil. I'm new." Dan smiled warmly. "Hi Phil, I'm Daniel but I prefer Dan."
~lunchtime~
Dan sat with his friends, they were all discussing Harry Potter. He looked around and saw Phil, sitting on his own. Two other boys walked up to Phil and started to push him around. Some people began to stare. Dan got up and went over to Phil. "Hey! Leave him alone!" The two boys pushed Dan to the ground. Now almost everyone was staring. "What did you say little Daniel?" One of the boys punched Dan in the eye. Dan cried out in pain. Phil quickly left. Eventually teachers told off the bullies and took Dan to the office. Dan's mother came to pick him up with a worried look on her face. "Daniel! Honey are you okay come here." Dan sighed. "Mum I'm fine my eyes a little sore but I'm fine. Dans left eye had gone black and was closed. They went home. When they were home Dan went to his bedroom and took off his uniform. He looked in the mirror, there were bruises all over him from the bullies kicking him. He sighed. "I hope this was worth it, I need to learn more about Phil.." He mumbled. Dan went to sleep and thought about Phil.
~next day~
Dan had slept through his alarm and got up with a jump. "Shit! I'm late!" Dan felt a sudden pain in his eye. He grumbled "I forgot about that."
Dan did he daily routine and his mother drove him to school. As Dan walked into school all Dan's friends asked if he was okay. He saw Phil in the same spot as yesterday. He wanted to talk to him so he went over. Phil panicked. "Oh.. D-dan I'm sorry for what h-happened to you yesterday.." Dan sat down next to Phil and smiled "Ah it's okay, someone had to help you. Why don't you stick with us at lunch today." Phil smiled back "Thankyou that would be nice. Hey we'd be able to learn more about each other." The bell rung sounding roll call. "Well I have to go.. See you at lunch.." Dan stammered and left Phil.
