You'd know the new student is cute if people are talking about him. Well, yeah. I wouldn't say he's cute....more of a nerd. He became known because of his weird behavior.

He was outgoing.

I mean aren't typical nerds supposed to be shy or something? Anyways on his second day here I had found out that he was the janitor's son and his mother had left them.

Sad isn't it? He has no friends. Except Nick, the typical nerd I was talking about. And Ryder, the school jock.

And when I say friend, I mean he's Ryder's playmate. He bullies the kid and calls him names.

On the first day of school in English class, he bumped into me and made all my stuff scattered around. He kept apologizing so I called him a dork.

Then our English teacher, Mrs. Wilson decided to speak up and said that the vulgar slang for dork was penis.

That was how that name had stuck onto him. And that was exactly what Ryder was doing right now. Calling him a dork.

"Why are you doing this?" The kid asked, pulling his books to his chest and pushing his glasses back so it wouldn't fall.

"Why? Because you're a dork and no body likes dorks like you." Ryder laughed.

"I'm not a dork! A dork is a dull, slow-witted, or socially inept person. Something to describe someone who is unable to judge and improvise interactions with other people in a acceptable or 'normal' manner."

"What?" Ryder chuckled, glancing back at his gang.

"He's like a living dictionary," Fin laughed. They continued pushing and laughing at him until a loud noise was heard throughout the cafeteria.

My friends, Logan, Tina, and Megan all turned to look at me. I didn't notice when it had happened but our table was a mess.

There was spaghetti everywhere. Sauce were all over the rounded table, the apple at the edge, and a meatball by my fisted hand.

I stood up and grabbed a napkin, wiping my hands. "Emery, babe." Ryder smiled, walking towards me. "What's wrong?" He wrapped his arms around my waist.

"What's wrong with me?" I smiled. "What's wrong with me is that if you dare bully the kid again, I'll make sure you regret it."

"But we're just playing around, babe."

"Well...." I turned towards the table and grabbed the meatball and smashed it against his face, earning a big "oohhh!" from the crowd.

I wiped my hand on his white t-shirt, looking at his face. I know he was holding in his anger.

Then I leaned into his ear and smiled. "I'm just playing too." before walking out of the cafeteria as my friends followed.

"Dang, girl. That was savage!" Megan laughed.

"I thought he was going to hit you!" Tina exclaimed.

"Yeah, you should stop provoking him." Logan added.

"Then he should learn not to tick people off," I rolled my eyes.

"You're lucky you're the principal's baby sister or he would've kicked your ass." Megan said as she punched my arm. "Like this!" Then she ran ahead.

She may look little but her hands are like steel. I rubbed my poor arms and glared at the back of her head. "Bitch,"

Logan and Tina chuckled as I ran after her, her scream echoing through the empty hallway.
