"Martian, this is stupid, Vicky said to me in an irritated tone. I chuckled softly to myself as I looked down to her sky blue eyes and golden blonde hair falling perfectly around her shoulders.
"Vicky come on man, it's going to be fun," I said. She sighed and looked up at the ancient nearly faceless Military hospital.
"Ok, let's do this!" she exclaimed unenthusiastically.

As I walked behind her I reflected on how we ended up at this tumble down hospital. Some of our friends had dared us to enter this old dump and as usual I agreed. I snap back to the present and saw that Vicky and I were in a long gloomy corridor. Over the years the paint had started peeling of the walls, leaving large areas of the wall bare.

"Martian, you know the flash light would be helpful," Vicky said sarcastically.
I smile to myself and pull it out. She grabs it out of my hand and switches the light on. A bright light falls on the corridor only adding to the gloomy air around us.

Some time passes as we roam the long hospital corridors. Suddenly there is a loud piercing scream.
And light of the flash light explodes in a shower of sparks.
"Vicky, are you okay!?" I shout panic stricken.

Quickly I search the ground around me for the flash light. I find it and switch it on searching for Vicky.
"Vicky!" I shout starting to tear up. I scan the ground still not seeing any sign of her. The light falls on a puddle of red...
I bend down and touch the puddle as the warm fluid runs through my fingers I realise what it is.
It's blood, Vicky's blood.

I get up, I can hardly see through the water fall of tears.
"Vicky!" I desperately scream.
Suddenly I hear another bone chilling scream.
"Hold on Vicky I am coming!" I call as I run in the direction of the scream

I run down the long corridor until I come to an operation theatre. I stop in front of the door and listen... I can hear heavy breathing from inside the theatre.

I push open the cold iron door and creep in. the room is filled with a soft red light. The walls and floors are covered in saws, blades and other unimaginable devises giving the room a hellish atmosphere. In the middle of the room lays the lifeless body of Vicky, her cold blue eyes staring lifelessly at me.

I slowly creep forward to her. As I reach out to touch her, I see a dark shape move into the light. He towers over me, his red eyes glowing like embers from a fire, my eyes run over The Man and fall upon three marks on his right shoulder XVI.

"My house, get out," he rasps.
I get up and run as fast as I possibly can. I hear The Man's loud heavy footsteps coming up behind me. I run down another corridor and into an empty room and close the door as fast as I can. I dare not breathe as I hear him pass by the door.

I sit against the door for hours or minutes I don't know which. Slowly I get up. I think back to The Man and the marks he bore on his shoulder. I look around the room, the walls and floor littered with files and books. I look down at my feet and pick up a file... In large bold red letters is XVI.

What is this? How can it be, it's the same as The Man had on his shoulder.
"Stop it, Vicky is dead and all you can think about is those marks?" I say to myself.
"See, your even talking to yourself now."

I open the file against my will and I am utterly confounded by what I see. The marks on The Man were from a super soldier program that failed. Instead of making a super soldier they made a monster.

I stand there reading the file for a while.
I have to get out of here.
I gather up all my strength and open the door. I look around the dark deserted corridor and run for the corridor and run for the door to the outside.

I only get a few steps when I feel him ram into me like a ton of bricks. I fell the last of my life slip away as the darkness flows over me...

Sometime later I wake up. I try to move but, I can't. I look down and see that I am chained to a hospital bed. I call out for help, but instead of help, The Marked Man slowly enters the room. I stare at him and notice the blood dripping from his clenched hands and I realise... it's THE END
