Haven was walking down the worn, banal pavement, hearing the new vans she bought click on the ground. Haven was bored with the same old place, same old people, and same old classes. Haven came early to school to study for a big math test coming up, knowing if she at least put in some effort, she could raise her low D. She wrapped her hands around the cold doorknob, opening the door to walk into a classroom scattered with multiple Cole's. She furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head to escape the mirage, she scanned the room again to see just normal students. She frowned a little, she couldn't stop thinking about Cole. She looked down at her feet and took a big sigh, she didn't want to ruin a friendship she spent years establishing. Haven didn't have many friends and she was a huge introvert. Her public display of awkwardness was broken by a familiar voice. "Hey Haven! Wanna sit down?" An obviously tired Cole said. Haven looked up and smiled. "Oh, uh, yeah." Haven had forgotten Cole had the same math teacher as her. Haven sat down next to Cole and looked at what he was studying. He was studying some basic Pre-Calculus formulas, which Haven had already memorized, but decided it would be rude to suggest what she really needed to study, and she didn't mind looking it over again. After awhile of silence, Cole croakily asked "So how was your weekend?" Haven didn't really know what to say, she didn't want to seem like a huge loser and say she just re-watched Friends the whole weekend. She decided to just say that her weekend was uneventful but overall okay. "Yeah, me too." Cole responded. Yet another awkward silence emerged until their math teacher broke it and told everyone that he had to go to a last minute meeting. Haven gathered her supplies and left the room for Cole to walk right up next to her. They walked together as they exchanged a few jokes and a few chuckles. Haven shed a huge smile as she knew this was one of the only people she could trust, she could laugh with, and she could really be herself with. After they had talked for about 15 minutes, the bell rang. Cole frowned, and said goodbye as they parted ways. As Haven walked to her homeroom class, she frowned a little. Although this was great, it couldn't last forever, she knew she had to tell Cole her feelings because it would just eat her up inside. She didn't know what this would lead to, whether it would be losing a friend and gaining a boyfriend, or just losing a friend. Haven couldn't risk losing one of her only true friends to these feelings, so she was a bit reluctant to tell him, but she knew she had to. She continued to have these thoughts float through her mind as she walked down the path she walked down everyday, wanting a sense of purpose in this whole ordeal.
