It was freshman year, the first day of high school. I finally felt like an adult. Well, somewhat. That is until my mom decided to take a picture of me before taking me to school.

"Mom! Is that really necessary?" while I was giving her a flat look.

"Yes, my baby's growing up! Now smile." Huffing, I gave her a fake smile waiting for her to take the picture. I just wanted this to be over with, the first day of school and I already wanted to graduate.

"Can I go now? I'm going to be late." I said with frustration.

"Yeah go ahead." My mom said while waving me away, looking at her phone.

I grab my bag and my class schedule and head out. Walking down the steps, I see my friends pull up and honk the horn. I run down and get in the passenger side of the car, shutting the door.

"Ready for the first day Kai?" My best friend Sydney asked while looking at me.

"Ready as I'll ever be. Now turn around and keep your eyes on the road before we crash." I said hitting her arm playfully.

"I'm not a bad driver Kai," She said pouting. "Yeah, sure." Rolling my eyes at her comment, I turn up the radio.

"We're here," Sydney says pulling into her parking spot. I get out the car and grab my bag from the back seat, then shut the door. There's no way out now. We get up to the front of the school and I look at my schedule.  My first class is Algebra, really out of all the classes in this school they give me this one.

"What's your first period?" Sydney asks

. "Algebra," I say with annoyance thick in my tone. I already know what to expect with this class.

"Okay Syd, text me when you find out what lunch you have," I say going down the hallway to my class. Getting to the door of my class I was greeted by the teacher. He was tall, really tall about six feet tall. He was bald and had a really annoying voice. It sounded like he was nagging all of the time. His name is Mr. Ferguson, he seemed like a good person and all but I don't think that he was cut out for the teaching job. No matter how hard he tried he just couldn't keep the class together. Finally, the bell rings and I immediately grab my bag and head towards the Gym. I really hope we aren't doing anything today because I do not feel like exercising. Walking down the hallway, I bump into someone dropping all of my stuff.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." The guy bends down to my level to help pick me up my notebooks and put them in my bag. I look up to see who he was. I slightly gasp because his eyes were so intense, and such a bright green that it almost cancels out the slight flecks of brown in them.

"Well, I think you should start." He jokingly says.

"I-I'm K-Kai." I say mentally scolding myself for stuttering. I pick up my bag and start heading towards the gym again. I feel him grab my arm and spend me around.

"I'm Aaden." I turn back around and start towards the gym again. Luckily, I made it just in time. The bell rang right as I got in the gym. I sit on the bleachers waiting for the gym teacher to come in. Suddenly, there is a whistle was blown and I cover my ears to protect myself from the horrible sound.

"Welcome to gym class, this class is a really hard class to fail. To not fail just do everything that I say. Luckily, today is your only day off, just because it's the first day, don't expect any more. This is your first and last day off." With that, he just leaves without a word. So I take the opportunity to leave and I grab my things and exit the gym. I hear the other kids whispering about me and questioning why I am leaving but frankly, I don't really care. I sit my bag down and pull out my phone to finish up the game I was playing. I hear footsteps behind me and turn around to make sure it wasn't a teacher, I do not want to be in trouble on the first day, let alone have a phone call to my mom that I would have a hard time explaining. It wasn't a teacher, it was Aaden. I immediately turn back around to focus on my game again, I don't want to talk to him, I sound like an idiot when I do.

"It's klutz," He says sitting down beside me.

"S-shut up," I say glaring at him. If only looks could kill right now.

"No one asked you to sit down beside me," He puts his hand on his chest pretending as if he was hurt by my comment.

"I thought you would enjoy my lovely company," He says batting his eyes.

"Well, you thought wrong," I say giving him a flat look. I turn back around and look at my phone to continue the game.  He thought absolutely right, actually. I do want him here. No. Stop. I am not doing this. Not again. I refuse to do this again.
