He tells me he loves me,
He says I'm his everything,
But for some reason I can't believe him,
Because in myself I never saw sprouting,
Of the beauty he tells me I have,
Which I never saw in the mirror,
That constantly told me I should be sad,
But the mirror hasn't seen my insides like he has,
It hasn't seen the cracks in my soul,
Like the mirror gave me while filling my mind with gas,
Poisonous enough to fight any being off,
But still he stayed,
Although I told him he should drink from another trough,
Because mine is so empty so dry and so barren,
That I'm not even comfortable in mirror I stare in,
But he still stayed,
Because he believed in my oceans that I still had waves,
But he didn't know he could drown,
In my ocean that seemingly had no ground,
I couldn't give him the closure a life ring provides,
But he saw something in my insides,
That I never saw and never thought I would see,
He was the only one that truly believed,
That I could get better and I surely did,
But I left him battered and bruised and of his dignity I rid.
