Requested by the awesome iHaroldStyles, she's so kind and you should go follow her! Also, there's an important author's note at the end. Enjoy!

You and Clint had been together for about two years. It wasn't the easiest thing, dating a hero. If he wasn't away on a mission, he was training.

You swore he sometimes forgot he had a girlfriend. You'd bring him food at the training room, waiting for him to finish his set. He'd stop, go over eat silently, then go back to train.

You had planned on talking to him about your lack of contact, but he'd left that night. Clint was gone three weeks and when he came back something about him was different.

Of course you'd greeted him with open arms and a kiss, but he'd pushed you away. "Clint? Sweetie what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just- I can't do this."

"Do what?"

"Us. It's not going to work out." He snapped. The elevator door dings open and he grabs your arm, dragging you out onto the balcony for privacy.

"Wh-what do you mean? I thought you- we've been- it's been a year." You stutter, tears threatening to spill.

"It's nothing personal, I just don't think it's going to work out. Goodbye (Y/n)." And with that he leaves. As the glass door shuts behind him, your chest suddenly hurts and you sink to the ground. You don't know how long you're there until Tony's smell envelopes you. He picks you up and gently carries you to your room. Your bed appears under you and he tucks you in.

Through tear-blurred eyes, you see Nat sitting by you. She looks angry as she gets up and leaves. The door closes behind you and not five minutes later do you hear everyone yelling from five floors downstairs.

Sobs rack your body as you sink further into the plush bed, tears and mascara staining your pillows. "Why?" Is your only thought as you cry.

It's been two weeks since the break up and you haven't left your room. You haven't eaten, refusing everything but water. Tony comes in everyday to check on you, cursing Clint's name. Your cousin invited you out to spend time with him and your friends, but you hadn't had the strength to get up.

That is, until Wanda and Nat had burst into your room one evening wielding makeup bags, clothes, and curling wands.

"Get up! We're not letting you sit here like a sack of rice any longer. Tonya having a party and you're going." Wanda says ripping the covers off you.

You curl up, groaning at the cold. "No. He's going to be there and I don't want to see him." You tell them, your voice hoarse from disuse.

"He's not invited. And besides, you need to get out and mingle. There'll be plenty of food and I know you're hungry. Almost as if in response, your stomach growls.

Nat helps you with your clothes and sends you to the shower. You look in the mirror, seeing a skeleton of a stranger looking back at you. Her movements mimicking yours as you push your hair out of your face.

After a few more moments of inspecting your malnourished body, you get in the shower, letting the warm water rush over you. You rince the oil from your hair and scrub your body with a floral soap. The second you step out, you're wrapped in a towel and pushed onto your vanity stool. Wanda blow dries your water darkened (y/h/c) hair while Natasha does your nails.

Soon they trade places, Wanda doing your makeup while Natasha sweeps your hair. They step away, smiling and turn you to the mirror. You look radiant, healthy. No longer is your skin pale and gaunt-looking, but glowing and happy.

They hand you a pair of heels and a tight, strapless dress. You change and twirl, letting its red fabric flow around you.

Your waist is accentuated by a rhinestone sash and a matching pair of heels are strapped to your feet.

"Beautiful! Every guy is going to wish you were his!" Wanda squeals, her accent rich. "It's almost time, come on let's go!" They say pushing you out the doors.

The smell of food immediately floods your nostrils and your stomach growls. A quick breeze wooshes around you and instantly you're in front of the buffet, Pietro at your side.
He loads up a plate and you nibble at the food he gives you. "Hungry (Y/n)?"

You nod and crack the first smile in almost a month. An arm snakes around your waist and Tony smiles down at you. "Hey kiddo," your cousin whispers.

The night is a blur and before you know it, it's three in the morning and you're in sleep shorts and a tank working in the shop. Tony ended the part a few hours before surprisingly, claiming he wasn't having fun.

Behind you, you hear the door sweep open. "Hey Tony, can you hold this for me while I weld the piece on?" You call back. No reply. "Tony?" You look back to see him.

"Look, before you run away or shoot me, let me explain." Your hand wraps around a wrench and you throw it at his head. Unfortunately for you, he ducks and it clatters to the ground.

"Damn it (Y/n)! Just let me talk to you!" He yells, making you flinch. "Sorry," he continues in a softer tone. "I didn't mean to yell."

"Yeah, exactly like you didn't mean to break my heart! New flash buddy! I don't want to see you again!" You scream back, throwing whatever small tools were in reach at him.

He stops walking toward you and puts his head down. "I had no choice. When I was on that mission, I got captured. While I was there, I saw people who's families were getting killed off in order to get answers out of them. I couldn't live with myself if you were killed. That's why I did what I did."

Tears burn lines down your face as you listen to his words. You sink to the floor, curled up again in the position you had been for weeks. "You broke me... and I don't know if I'm going to be the same. You taught me that you can't trust people. No matter how much you love them." You cry.

"I'm sorry for hurting you. I know I can't take it back but I wanna try even if it takes me the rest of my life." He tells you seriously. You hear the rubber soles of his boots squeaking as he walks over and picks you up. "Please, just give me another chance. And if I mess that up too, then you'll never have to see me again."

You nod slowly and look at him, "You'll have to redeem yourself, we're just friends for now. That day, when you came back... I heard yelling right after. Who-"

He chuckles. "Oh that. Yeah, everyone came down and screamed at me. Tony kicked me out and threatened to kill me, Nat had to take Bruce out because he started hulking out, and Steve and Bucky screamed at me a ton. Everyone here really loves you, they hate seeing you hurt.

"I heard something about you not eating. Have you eaten recently?" Clint's voice is full of concern as his hazel eyes look into your (y/e/c) ones. "I ate some tonight, first time in a while. Tony said he'd take me out tomorrow for brunch." You admitted.

He nods and smiles, and you two spend the next half hour talking, trying to get comfortable around each other again. It'll take a while before you're the same as you were before, but he eventually wins you over with a romantic date after a few months.
