Storm at Sea - Prologue

"Whoa! Wh-wh-whoa...!" A female voice screeched as she struggled.

"Are...are you okay???" Came the worried reply from a male counterpart.

"No!" He yelled desperately, a struggle clearly heard as he scrambled to grab hold of her. Finally, he found her fingers, which he grasped tightly between his, "Don't let go!" He hissed from between his clenched teeth.

For a moment, nothing but their panting was heard and then a sigh of relief, "Just a little longer..."

Again there was a struggle, "Come on!" He pleaded, "Hang on!"

"N-n-no!" She cried desperately, try as she would she just couldn't. "I can't....hold on...!"

She let out a blood curdling cry of pain, her reflex to clutch her ailing side causing her to let go from his grasp, "WAAAAAAAAAH!!" She screamed, and in response the male screamed, all his emotion poured into one single name: "JAAAAAADE!!"

"Urgh....." She groaned as she stirred, slowly starting to gain consciousness, "Where....where am I?" Her half opened lids were only able to make out fuzzy shapes of bluish green and some sort of sandy color.

All she could hear was a dull roaring sound and the sharp scent of salt, which was more than her head could take at the moment and nothing she could make sense of, at least, not in this state.

"I cant....drifting ...off..." And with that, she once again faded out of consciousness.
