In Underground Labyrinths
Eyes of light peering from above.
The gurgle and roaring
of water like blood.
Devoured by the scent
sweet, intolerable, musty
I breathe out.
Whispers of weary wind
and seeping sounds sink
Metal crosses crawl above
creaking and scraping
Nails deep against a chalkboard.
The brick confinement
sweats, from hot haze
Who knows what's in the water?
Disease? Frogs? maybe Goldfish?
Eeks flash by only flashes
of nude tails, recognized
Steam, heat, escapes
into the above unknown.
Mixed with my wretched thoughts
that slip out as I try to slip
through from this
Dungeon.
But the dark dank
disappears,
Though it always
seeks and hides.
The obscured light adds
to my already obscured mind
trying to solve this riddled game,
As Indefinables
Still Lurk at every
Twist and turn.
