The year was 2002, Ice Age was coming out and everyone was making a fuss about it. The movie was sold out in most theatres and all the parents were desperate to get some tickets for their kids and secretly themselves. "Hey Mom" Libby called to her mother four days before the release of Ice Age "did you get us tickets to Ice Age?"

"Libby you are 17 this December and you still want to watch kiddie movies like Ice Age" her mom replied sarcastically "Mom, this is the movie of the century and fyi its a family movie you hear f-a-m-i-l-y"

"Yeah, yeah family whatever I don't have your tickets, but I've got the next best thing"

"Mom" Libby gasped "we're going to Disney World?! OMG OMG OMG!!! Meila is going to freak when I- "

"LIBBY! were not going to Disney world, were watching ice age at the neighbors house and having a barbecue"

"Mom, that is not the next best thing, first of all their son, Dolak , smells like garlic, secondly their house is always on its period! red, gross, and smells like blood, and third, there is no third I only need two reasons!"

"Libby, Monica, Roe there will be no complaints, you wanted to watch the movie, you're watching it"

"But mom!"

"No buts. to your room NOW! were going over there on Saturday."

"Fine! but I'm NOT gonna like it!" she groaned before stomping off to bed.

Wednesday, Three days to the premiere of Ice age

"wake up Libby! its time for school!" her mother chimed shaking the sleeping girl. "mmh five more minutes" Libby griped holding up three fingers groggily. "no, no, no" her mom chuckled "the deal was, I get rid of- I mean send you off to school for six hours, and you get to live in this house"

"But mom!"

"Butts are for sitting on" Ms. Roe said pushing Libby out of bed "and its time for yours to be getting to school, you have fifteen minutes before the bus gets here hurry!"

"mom that's more than- wait what?! what time is it mom?"

"mmm 6:15ish"

"mom! mom no!" Libby leapt off of her bed, running towards her closet "I'm in deep shit" she whispered to no one in particular while pulling out an ombre dark blue and aqua dress. Her mom stood in the corner smirking slightly 'phones; we have them for a reason' she thought to herself looking down at the luminescent white numbers that read '5:01 a.m.', she chuckled, watching her daughter scramble. Libby, on the other hand was sprinting out of the shower hair slick with water and almost tripping twice. Quickly she put on her clothes and dried her hair before checking the time, "f-five thirty?" she said looking up to her mother flabbergasted. She collapsed on the floor "not cool mom, not cool" she whispered before falling asleep once again. "How did she become so... unintelligent?"

"I heard that!" Libby shouted, still on the floor before hearing her phone ring. "yellow? Libby speaking, though I prefer not to" she grumbled into the small plastic object "girl get up I'm picking you up today, and coffee, on me of course" Libby's eyes shot open "Meila! what would I do without you, you're truly the bestest friend ever!"

"Bestest isn't a word Libby"

"Aww but Meila! you're the bestest!"

"...oh I know I am! but for real get out here I'm waiting"

"coming my honey!"

"don't call me that I have a boyfriend"

"but honey!" Libby whimpered. "ugh fine!" Meila begrudgingly complied "Thank you my honey" Libby made a kissy noise before running out "bye! love you mom!"
