Chapter 1: S Ranked Missions of the Beginning

"Why am I in this boring class, it isn't like I need it. My arcane is among some of the top in this school and my knowledge of it is up there as well. If anything I could teach this class just as good as Professor Gale." I boastfully think as I stare out of the window daydreaming in the back of his Arcane and Knowledge 101 class. I could hear my name being called faintly, but I decided to ignore it as continue on with my daydream, that was until I was hit upside my head by a flying text book which promptly snapped me back to reality.

"Who the hell threw that!" I shouted as I stood up from my seat looking around only to find my fellow peers snickering. My eyes continued to scan the classroom only to find Professor Gale holding back his laughter as he raised his hand slightly.

"For an adult he sure is a big kid," I thought to myself as I took my seat and picked up the book.

"Well, now that I have your attention Ms. Éclair, would you please answer my question?" He ask as he takes a sip of his coffee still with a cheesing grin.

"Um, what was the question again?" I casually ask as I scratch the back of my head.

The smile on his face before hand quickly vanishes as he face-palms and utters some words under his breath before repeating his question "What is a Phoenix pill's pros and cons

If its one thing that puts him in a bad mood its repeating questions. Score one for Scarlett, Gale zero. "A phoenix pill is used to restore a hunters arcane back to one-hundred percent. As for pros and cons that is a trick question, there is only one pro and one con. The pro is the fact I mentioned before, it restores a hunters arcane back to one-hundred percent. The drawback however presents its self when a person consumes too many in a short period. It can lead to over dosage and death." I say as I lean back in my chair smirking.

He began to clap and praise me to which I couldn't tell if it was genuine or sarcastic. Once he ceased clapping, he began to fix his glasses. "Excellent answer Scarlett, although you forgot one thing, can anyone answer what that thing is?"

A girl shot her hand up and even before he called on her she blurted out the answer "If a hunter takes to many pills, not only could they die, they could also become a witch or warlock."

"Good answer Alexis, its nice to know somebody is paying attention thoroughly to my lesson." he said as he turned around and began to write more notes on the white-board.

"I always pay attention to you lectures Professor Gale, unlike a certain red head." She said as she turned around looking dead at me just to stick her tongue out.

I gave her most prolific I don't give a fuck face in history followed by a swift middle finger. "Take that you blonde bimbo" I think to myself She rolled her eyes and turned back at the board to gaga over our teacher some more. To a certain degree I can see why so many of the females obsess over him. He's tall and fair-skinned with messy medium length hair and honey hazel eyes. Not to mention he's pretty young. He is the youngest person in recorded history to master his arcane at 15. He then became a teacher at 20, and I believe this is his fourth year teaching, so that would make him between the ages of 24 and 25 depending on his birthday. I personally think he'd be hotter if he cut his hair, but others seem to like it as is. As he continued to write his notes on the white-board the intercom echoed over the classroom, "Will Scarlett Éclair please report to the Headmasters office at once." "This is my chance to ditch this classroom" I thought excitedly. I gathered my things and briskly walked out of the classroom. As I'm walking down the hall Professor Gale peaked his head out of the door. "Scarlett! Make sure you study for the test on Monday." He shouted. "Sure thing Professor G." I lied as I turned around giving him a thumbs up with a fake smile to coincide. I spun around and continued to walk down the hallway leading to the Headmasters office.
