"Tell me, what is your name?"
"My name is Anna."
"Nice to meet you, Anna. Do you know why you're here?"
"To talk to you."
Jane and I were always together. We laughed together, we bathed together, we played together, we even slept together. There were no worries in the world when we were together. We chased each other in the parks, we were fairy queens in our great kingdom. Our moms watched after us from a bench a few meters away, glancing over at us now and then. We ran around with our pink wands, butterfly wings and tiaras, we had a blast.
Mom always told us to be careful not to be close to the roads when we played, and especially not away from her sight. But we didn't stay close that day, we didn't see the harm in it. We avoided the bushes, didn't want the evil fairy king to ruin our pretty wings. We waved around with our wands as we cast our magical spells at him before moving to the next bush a few meters away.
Our mothers always had something to talk about, but whenever we were close they changed the topic and focused on us instead. How pretty we were, if we were done for the day. Why would we ever go home when we had so much fun, it almost sounded as an insult than a question.
We loved to break the rules our parents gave us, it was more fun that way. It was too boring not to run at home. There was no fun in not poking at dog poop with sticks. If mom could put makeup on herself, then so could we.
Jane and I usually made sinister smiles towards each other as if we were up to something. Our mothers knew there was something up, but we didn't tell them. Why would we when they didn't want to share their conversation with us?
Off we went, running on the grass fields of the park. Near the trees and brushes, changing the fairy world to our heart's content. At first we were battling the evil fairy king and his minions. The next moment we had saved the fairy kingdom and we married the most handsome fairies in the world.
Then we went on a fairy adventure, running around the park, passing our mums over and over again. They always acted surprised when we came passing by, telling us that we can catch the evil fairy king. They didn't understand we had already beaten him. I thought adults never payed any attention to what happened, that was important news that they had complete missed.
We ran further and further away from our moms we finally made it to a road, the end of the park. I turned around in search for mom, but no sign of her. The cars were so loud I couldn't hear where she could be, nor did I know where we went. We had too much fun to be worried about how we got there.
We continued with our adventure further behind the trees, out of sight from our mothers. That's when we found out the evil fairy king had a brother. The adventure never ended, it had no ending. For us, there were unimaginably many more adventures to take place. One led to the other and so on, never ending.
We came across the wall of the park, telling to each other that it was the evil fairy king's great walls to his palace. What we didn't think about was that it was the end of the park, instead we searched for the exit. That's when Jane saw something on the other side of the street.
She pointed at it, asking me what it was. I told her not to go, that it was dangerous. I may have been breaking mom's rules from time to time, but I remember how angry she got when I were almost hit by a car a few months ago. The big scary cars drove so quickly, but Jane didn't listen.
She jolly jumped away from me, went off the grass field we played on and onto the gravel road. I tried to tell her to get back without a success. I was too scared to walk past where the grass ended, it was something with the road that scared me. So many tall people was walking on roads, even though there was no one there now.
