Thoughts.

Random Drabble

It took five minutes for the tank to leave and make the street clear. It's the middle of the night and noise of war remains loud. Uge rushed to us with a sigh of relief. We climbed up the dusty and dirty service stairs. The building is so empty, like it has been abandoned for years. However, by the looks of it, this is an office building with broken and smashed cubicles of office-mates, broken glass of office room, computer and desks unavailable for use. If not for the disturbing sound of war outside, the building would be eerie.

"let's stay here for the night." Russia said who grabbed a dirty rubbish cloth and wipes the dusty floor before sitting with crossed legs. "Just before the sun peeks the horizon."

He throws me the rug that I instantly caught then did what he did before sitting uncomfortably. I held my gun closely to me for security with my slingshot on my side. I called out to Uge before throwing the rug which Russia failed to do the favor to me. He catches it and did the same with us hugging his backpack. I leaned by the wall and sighed. There I see in front from the glass wall of this supposed function hall, fire and smoke in different buildings and houses matched with the screams of innocent beings. Like a lullaby, it brought me to sleep. But unlike children lullabies, it only made me fear for nightmares in my sleep.

"About a hundred meter away."

I woke up to the sound of Uge talking to Russia while continuously tapping his laptop. Based on the sky outside, it might be around four or five am. Uge greeted me good morning, giving a short glance and smile. It made Russia turn around catching my eye, before turning again. He watches the view from outside the glass wall. "While you were asleep, an atomic bomb exploded a hundred meter away from us. Based from CCTV cameras near that area that Uge got, it was the evacuation center."

I walk towards him as he talked and pointed to me which direction it was located. "Wait, how did you see what's in the CCTV if we are a hundred meter away?"

"Well, at least it wasn't hard to hack. Although we just got a single live video cam available from a building nearby the area before it was burnt to ashes." Uge walks towards us holding his laptop and then laying it on a long broken glass table behind us as he shows us an x-ray graphic presentation of the explosion. It showed that the location was entirely demolished, leaving nothing but the ground where it used to stand.

"What the hell.."

"I should say that this suicide mission is way better than dying there." Uge commented. We were right in there last night and we could've died in there helplessly.

"So, what's the plan?" Russia crossed his arms waiting for me to reply.

"Do you have a highlighter?" I turned ans asked Uge.

"Not the best plan, but it's all I have."

"Are you kidding me? No hell way. That's suicide in a suicide!" Uge reacted.

"You got a better one? Then spill it out because as far as I know it's the only option we have."

"Maybe not." Russia interrupted. I saw him smirk before he uttered his plan.

  "Are you from the HR Department? 'Cause you sure know how to cherish human life." Uge commented to Russia's suggestion, satisfied, while looking at me like I'm a goner. 

"Well?" Russia motioned towards me to know my final say. Uge, obviously wishing to reconsider the recent suggestion. 

 "Fine." I finally answered in a sigh. " But. Once this plan gets busted, I bloody don't care if its suicide." 

 I can see Uge brighten up and filled with relief. What an expressive man. He taps on his laptop doing whatever nerds do. I was walking near Uge and towards my slingshot when the ground suddenly shook. Uge grew panicked while keeping safe his goods. Russia held my arm as I was about to fall down a pit towards the ground floor as the railing broke with the sudden shaking. 

 Next thing I saw was a hole down Entrance of the ground floor from something across the street that passed through the next building behind where we are staying, about ten meters in diameter. 

 "HOLY CRAP." Uge cried out loud who was already on his knees. The hole seems to be caused by a laser with the edgy and melting sides of the perfectly circle hole remains. 

 "We better move out fast." another shaking occurred that made me finally fell on my knees, but the shaking seems to be an aftershock. Russia pulled me up as I struggle to grab the sling of my bag. "Uge! Get to your knees and lets get moving!" 

 Uge and I didn't even realize he's been calling him. But as soon as we do, we got back to our senses and started running.

I really have no idea where this is heading, at all.  Don't worry, not gonna dwell too much on this story. Just for the sake of action and well, these characters will surely be on another storyline HAHAHA

Anyways, I was so sleepy writing this so it doesn't matter what nonsense are written ahahaha
