"Of course he's cute, he's my kid after all" Adam laughed, "we've come along way, haven't we?"

She smiled, "We did. It wasn't a fun journey but I couldn't of picked a better traveling partner you know"

"Oh, I know" he turned her face towards him, his palm cupping her cheek, "I love you" he kissed her, what had started off as a soft kiss quickly deepened.

"Daddy?" Aidan had made the decision to finally start walking, "daddy?" He repeated, smacking his chubby hand on Adam's leg.

They pulled apart breathless and focused on their youngest son, "Did you walk baby?" Kim asked surprised.

"Think he must have" Adam answered.

Kim groaned, "Thanks a lot Adam, I missed his first steps!"

He smirked at her, "Can't help it, I needed a kiss"

"We're ready" Adam and Dani said almost simultaneously.

"Can you tell us where we are going?" Dani asked her pink purse slung over her shoulder, "is it fun?"

"No hints!" Kim laughed as she gathered Aidan's diaper bag and handed it to little Adam to carry, "it's going to be the best day yet"

Adam watched as they all headed towards the car, he caught the picture of little Adam just a week or so after the bone marrow transplant that sat on the bookshelf.

Carefully he picked it up and held it in his hand, the emotions of that time coursed through his body.

They had spent the first few weeks watching their son struggle to live, some days he questioned if he would be able to survive if they lost Adam.

It wasn't long after that when his dad had shown up at the hospital almost giddy.

"Dad, hey" Adam was sullen, they had just met with the doctor and discussed treatment options for the latest setback, he wasn't in a jovial mood.

Bob grinned from ear to ear, almost passing Adam off, "Don't look so sad son, Adam's gonna be fine. He's going to make it" he was certain now.

Adam glanced up from his hands, "You're pretty confident in that" he said dejectedly. He had tried to keep a positive mindset but days like this it was hard. Little Adam had cried virtually all night in serious pain and the pain medication seemed unwilling to help his son.

Bob wiped his eyes, "I want to tell you something" certain his son would think he was crazy, but he didn't care. "I had a real shitty day yesterday, I was missing your mom and so worried about Adam. I ended up going to bed pretty much as soon as I got off shift, didn't even eat"

Adam shrugged, "Dad, I would kind of like to be alone" he said softly, didn't want to listen to his father's trivial worries not when little Adam's life hung in the balance.

"No, listen" Bob raised his voice, he needed to tell his son this. "I had a dream, the most amazing and vivid dream I've ever had in my life" he could feel the goosebumps spread across his neck and arms again, "Your mom, she came to me Adam"

Adam looked up skeptically at his father, "Dad, really?"

"I know how it sounds Adam, I do" he stood up and looked at little Adam through the window, Kim clutching his hand.

"Crazy, it sounds crazy"

"Well, hear me out" Bob turned back to face him, "I swear I could feel her, smelled her perfume. She looked amazing" he could feel tears roll down his cheeks, he ignored them and continued speaking, "She grabbed my face, and leaned her forehead against mine" he smiled "nuzzled my nose like we used to do all the time"

Adam could picture it in his mind's eye, he made his heart ache, "I miss her too dad"

Bob shook his hands, "It's more than that son, She was with me. Just like you're with me now" he argued, "She told me something"

"What?"

Bob grinned from ear to ear, "Not to worry"

"About what?"

"Little Adam" he told him.

Adam looked at him with tears in his eyes, "What are you saying?"

Bob went and sat beside him, placing his hand on the back of Adam's head, "She told me little Adam would be okay. He'll be healthy and live a long life" he pulled Adam into his arms, "I woke up in a flash, and the pit in my stomach was gone and I felt so happy and at peace. I just know it's true, my grandson, your son he's going to be okay"

Adam nodded, "I hope so" still a skeptic.

"I know so, it's divine intervention"

The sound of the horn broke Adam from his reverie, he set the picture down, "Thanks Mom, I love you" he said softly as he left to join his family.
