"RIIIIING!"

The bell. School was out and so were the kids. I had to stay late for swim practice, so by the time I began to pack my stuff, it was already Five O'clock. I grabbed my stuff and began walking. I began to run, no particular reason, just was really hyper today.

As I walked out of school, I thought I saw someone, standing by a road next to me. I turned to face them, but all I saw was a quick movement. I have a strange feeling, but try to doubt my instincts like every girl in a horror movie. It always ends well, right?

I kept walking, but wondered what the noise must have been. As I walked, I realized it was stupid for me to ignore that. What if someone was stalking me? I could get in serious trouble. Or if someone wanted my attention. I brushed the thought aside and continued walking. I was not really paying attention to where I was going, and I must have taken a wrong turn or something because I couldn't recall where I was. I kept walking, though, thinking I could find my way out of this forest I found myself in. But then I realized it. I'm going to be here for a while, aren't I? Shit.

I sat down to rest for a bit because, at the moment, I felt like passing out. I turned my head and was about to fall asleep, when I saw a boy. He seemed normal, but the weird thing was where he was. He was sitting on a branch in a tree. Way up high, looking down at me, and I then looked to his eyes. White. As if they were lights. I stared and he jumped down. He had sandy hair, with little shots of brown in it. I immediately noticed the apple in his hand. I was starving, but with all of the stress of getting lost, I didn't notice at first. He put his hand out to help me up. I grabbed it and felt the warmth. His hand was warm and caring. It gave me the type of feeling you get when you have been out in the cold for hours and hold a cup of cider or coco. I stood up and his eyes faded to a bright hazel. He handed me the apple with a smile and I knew things were looking up already.

"Who are you, exactly?" I asked, clearly bewildered.

"My name is Mason! How about you? What is your name?"

"Mayzya," I said with a smile back at his "It's nice to meet you Mason!" Yep, things are looking GREAT!

"Well, May-"

"It's May-z-ya, not May. Thanks."

"Well, MAY-Z-YA! Why are you resting by this tree?"

"I am really tired and I got lost in the forest. I have been walking for a while, but still couldn't find my way out. Can you help me?"

"Well, the thing about this forest May, is-"

"MAYZYA!" I yelled, in kind of a joking manner. Kind of.

"SORRY! MAYZYA! Anyway, I actually live here. This forest isn't normal. I don't know how to get out, but I never planned to leave."

"Wait, so...you don't know how to leave?! Dang it! Why is this forest so different?" I asked in frustration.

"Guess not." He replied in a calm manner.

"MASON! I need to get HOME!" I almost began to cry, realizing that what I was going through, I wasn't going to get help. Mason grabbed my shoulders and tried to calm me down, but when it didn't work, he grabbed me, pulled me into his chest, and hugged me, until I stopped. Of course, it was quick, because...well...you don't keep screaming when a boy you don't know hugs you.

"Calm down, Mayzya. It's going to be alright. I might not know how to get out, but I swear to God, I will go to Hell and back to get you out."

I trusted him. I began walking.

"Are ya comin?" I yelled back to him. He ran up behind me, and picked me up, and carried me the other way.

"You're crazy, you know that, right?" he playfully mocked me.

"I know, do you?" I teased back at him.

"I know what I'm getting myself into, and I hope you are prepared"

We walked for about 20 minutes, and he took me to his tree house, but it was more of a regular house in the trees. He brought me some food and we ate. I got ready for bed, but began to cry when I thought of my family. What are they going to do? If I never, leave, I would never forgive myself. Mason heard me crying, and he came up with and apple.

"It'll be ok, you can survive, and we will get you out...eventually" He said, reassuring me.

I know it was crazy because I had just met him, but I felt a connection. He placed his hand on my shoulder and turned and faced the floor. When he did, I turned my head and kissed his check. We both blushed, but we were fine, we could live with this life, even if it's only been a day.

He sat up and said, "C'mon, I have a room for you"

He took me to a gorgeous place in the trees with a blanket and pillow on the floor next to a pile of leaves. I laid on the leaves and he said "Night, Mayzya, sleep well, and thanks for the kiss"

"You big dork. And Mason?"

"Yeah?"

"You can call me May."

"Well...goodnight May"
