Let's Party
"Ma?
"What you want little girl." My mom asked while stirring the pot of whatever it was that she was cooking. It was her day off from the hospital; she was a nurse and had been for the past 15 years.
"So.. Tanya got invited to a get together and I'm just letting you know that I probably won't be back till tomorrow."
She stop stirring the pot before she turned to stare at me through the lens of her glasses. "Have fun, go but respect my house. Do not come back home drunk and if you think you gone' catch yoself' sneaking in, you might as well stay out. Don't do drugs. And... Just please be safe." That was all that was said before she turned around and continued to cook.
"Well Tanya is kind of outside waiting so I'm gonna go and were gonna get ready at her house. Bye ma' love you." I rushed to with a kiss to the cheek and a quick hug before I grabbed the overnight bag and scurried out of the door.
"Okay let's go."

I couldn't wait to get to this party. This was the first real party I was going to attend. Most parties I've been to were little social get togethers with family that's was filled with more children and old people than actual teens. Never was there alcohol and drugs there even though I have no desire to try any, it was still pretty cool.
We finally arrived and the place was packed. Sweaty bodies on top of each other grinding, dancing and drinking. It was also a little hot but that came with the territory.
"Come on let's dance." Tanya shouted over the music grabbing my wrist and dragging me to the dance floor. This was my first real party and I was a little nervous but I was going to have fun without the help of drinking and illegal drugs.
