There it is again, The shadow. I'm sure you know what I mean. Its the one that's always there, sun or no sun. Actually I've grown quite used to it. It doesn't harm me at all. It makes me feel safe, like there is someone who cares for me. Am I the only one with it? If I am then I guess I'm lucky.
"Paris, get out of that book and come down stairs for breakfast!" Mom yelled. I sighed and put my diary under my bed. From the corner of my eye I see the shadow disappear. I walked over to the mirror and did a once over on my outfit for the first day of high school. Black leggings and a white sweater that hung off my shoulder a bit. And my favorite converses. No matter how old and dusty they looked, I still love them.
"PARIS!!!"
I grabbed my bag and walked out of the room and downstairs. As I walked into the kitchen I glanced at my brother, he's a year older than me but eh I'm smarter. But we are really close and all.
"Good morning mom, Francis, don't drink for the cart there's other people in this house." I said trying to hide a smile, no matter how much of a penis my brother is, I still love him.
"Its not like you drink milk anyways Paris" he said with his brows raised.
I walked over and hugged him. When I let go I went to my mom and kissed her cheek.
"Nervous for your first day?"
"No not really, just the thought of school is blah" Francis walked over to us.
"Besides, you have no reason to be, cause I'm gonna be there." He said with a smirk. Boys and their so called "manliness".
I grabbed an apple and stood by the door waiting for my best friend Chelsie. Im still surprised that her mom agreed to us by letting her come to the same school as me... Her mom doesn't like me that much haha.
"Mom see ya later!!" I called out. I sat on the porch to wait for her. Bzzz.
Chelsie: Hey I'm not gonna be able to meet up with you today. Ryan is sick and I can't leave him, tootaloo.
I didn't even bother replying, she probably already ran to that fat house cat. I hot up and walked back into the house.
"Francis!! Can I ride to school with you? I asked with puppy eyes. He let's no one.. NO ONE... Gets in that car.
"You can take the bus." He said without looking up. I turned and gave my mom that pleading look. She cleared her throat.
"Now Francis, would you do that to your poor baby sister?" She said with an eyebrow cocked. I started to smirk until I saw Francis glaring a whole into my face. I just smiled innocently and winked at my mom as I walked out the kitchen
