(Demi's POV)

"Where the hell did James get to?" Jake stood staring out the window and towards the woods.

"He went to go find Chris, well at least that's what I think he said."

"What you mean, what you think he said" Jake spun to reveal a very confused look.

"Well he did have half a butterfly bun stuffed in his mouth while he was talking." I laughed slightly.

"James and his butterfly buns, i swear he's addicted to them." Jake returned to looking out the window but I could see him smile through the reflection.

Suddenly the door flew open and James, along with Chris and Cameron came spilling into the house covered in what smelled and looked like blood.

"Oh no!! What have you 3 been doing?!?!" I asked with a very angry tone to my voice.

"Abducted by aliens"

"Mutant rabbits chased us"

"Flying cows"

They all said at the same time.

"Okay then, which one is it??"

"All of them at once!" James shouted quickly.

"So lets gets this straight, you was chased by mutant rabbits and flying cows and then you got abducted by aliens?" Jakes stood next to me leaning again the door looking amused.

"Yep." Cameron smiled "that's what happened."

"Ah ha, yeah sure. Just go get washed you stink!" I covered my nose and mouth with my hands to block out the smell.

They all ran upstairs and I soon heard a lot of shouting and crashing.

"Let me guess, they are fighting over who is getting in the shower first? They do remember we have 2 bathrooms, right?" Jake looked at me confused.

"Let them figure that out them selves." I placed my hand on jakes shoulder and made my way for the living room. "Anyways no one told me Cameron was coming over."

Jake followed close behind me.

"Oh I thought you knew, yeah he rang up last week to say he was coming over for a few weeks." Jakes smile faded.

"What's up?" I asked concerned and patted the sofa next to me.

"Nothing just wondering why they where all covered in blood."

"Maybe they just went hunting?" I shrugged thinking nothing of it.

"Hmmm, I don't know something seemed a little odd." Jake sat next to me and put his feet up on the coffee table.

"Stop worrying so much, I'm sure they would have told us if anything has happened?" I gave him a questioning look and shoved his feet off the table.

"True, but I just had a feeling something was wrong just after James left. I have a feeli....." I cut him off mid sentence.

"Was you listening to me, I said stop worrying, if it was important or anything dangerous they would have said." I hit him playfully round the shoulder.

"Anyway what we watching?" Jake asked picking up the TV remote and flicking through the channels.

"What about a movie?" I suggested walking over to the shelf that contained all our DVDs.

"Sounds good. What about drinks and popcorn too?" Jake jumped up in excitement acting like a little child.

"Of course!!! Now what movie??" I traced my finger over each one till I found one I liked. "How about ice age??"

"YES!!" Jake shouted, "right you put on the movie and ill get the drinks and popcorn"

He ran out of the room and into the kitchen, Tripping Into the kitchen door.

"Idiot" I sighed

Just as I was about to put on The DVD there was a knock at the front door.

"Who the..?" I stood up and made my way to the door but Jake had already beaten me there.

"Ermm Demi it's for you." He looked over at me and shrugged.

"I have no idea who the hell it is." He mouthed, lucky thing I can lip read.

I walked over to the door and stood staring in shock at the person staring back at me.

It was a long blondy, brown haired girl who was slightly smaller than myself and had the biggest smile on her face.

"Irvette!!!" I ran over to her and gave her the biggest hug I had ever given.

"So you do remember me then?" She asking hugging me back just as tight.

"Of course I do!! How could I ever forget!" Tears slowly started falling down my face and I pulled away and saw she was crying too.

"You haven't changed one bit you know that." I laughed as she moved back and put her hands on her hips.

"What do you mean I haven't changed? I'm taller arn't I?" She laughed back.

"We'll besides that you haven't, trust me its a good thing." I hugged her once more before leading her inside and past a very confused Jake.

Irvette is my childhood friend. We have know each other since we was 1 year old. Our parent had been mates before hand. We have been inseparable our whole lives. I haven't seen her since the week before the fire.

"So how are things?" She asked looking round. "The house hasn't changed either."

"Great, everything's fine, how have you been?" I asked curious how she didn't mention the fire.

"Yeah everything's good, where's your parents? Do you think they will remember me?" She asked with a bright smile.

"Well..... Erm.... They... " I looked Down at my feet trying not to cry and thinking of how I could tell her.

"What's wrong?" Her cheerful face turned to concern.

I took her and Jake into the front room and told her everything. About the fire, my parents and how I met Jake and the others.

"I'm so sorry!" She gave me a tight hug and wiped the tears out my eyes.

"Anyways.." I began to try and lighten the mood. "We was about the watch our favourite film, know which I mean?"

"Ice age?"

"Correct first time!" We both laughed as Jake went to go get the drinks and popcorn.

When he came back we was still laughing, but by now we was on the floor in tears.

"I'm a lone, lonely, lonesome, loner" we said at the same time still laughing.

"That's a lot of lonely's" Irvette said through her tears.

"Precisely" I laughed back.

"I'm concerned about you two." Jake put the drinks and pop corn on the coffee table and went to put on the DVD.

"I made an extra lot for Irvette."

"Why thank you." She smiled as we sat back on the sofa wiping the tears away. Jake joined us handing us a box of tissues.

"I've got a feeling you two aren't going to stop talking and laughing through out the movie." Jake glanced at us.

"Well sorry!" We said together holding our hands up in defence.

This is going to be a funny few hours.
