Watch Dog (xMedic)

You went home, fully aware that Joseph is somewhere behind you.
You gave up and just got ready for bed.

And Joseph got ready for the night watch. Pouring out a cup of coffee, he was badly concealed in one of the hedges in your backyard. He had a little camp set up. And Archimedes kept him company.

A motion detector that picked up any traces of unusal movement, a pair of binoculars, his bone saw and a syringe gun were placed neatly around him. He also had infrared goggles, complete with a small head gear that helped him hear anything nearby.

His hands shaked as he poured himself another cup of coffee. He has not gone back to the base for 4 days now, and hasn't gotten any sleep since.

The sound of a ringtone startled him, when he realized his phone was ringing.

He slid the call button on the touch screen and picked up.

"Hallo?"

"Yo doc! Where ya at?! We haven't seen you in 4 freakin' days!!"

"Later, I'm busy"

"Whaddya mean you're busy?! We got som-"

Medic got annoyed and hung up.

"It's going to be a long night Archimedes.."

Archimedes gave a coo of agreement.

Later that night, Medic was watching your window for anything strange.

Nothing really interesting happened. An occasional rustle of leaves being blown by the wind startled Medic, but other than that, there was nothing special.

Medic leaned back on the fence in your back yard, and rubbed his eyes tiredly.

"Well Archimedes.. zhere doesn't seem to be-"

A sudden crash came in front of your house. Startled, Medic stood upright with his syringe gun.

"Archimedes!! Watch over (y/n)!! Be a good watch dog vhile I handle zhis!! Do not let anyzhing come near (y/n)! Understood?!"

Archimedes barked, and flew straight towards your window.

"Hmmmmnnn.."

You were dreaming of giant donuts. No, not just any donut.. GIANT DANCING DONUTS!!!

You danced among the donuts gracefully. All of you wore tutus, and danced along the music flowing through the air.

You were dancing along with a paticulary handsome donut with sprinkles and white cream.

"My, you are a very good dancer Mr. Donut!"

"Please, call me John"

The two of you laughed and danced along with the others.

The crowd went wild when you flew through the air, and the other donuts stopped dancing, and the spotlight was centered on you.

Everyone, even the donuts applaused for you.

Your eyes were filled with tears, so grateful for the standing ovation you recieved. Flowers rained around you.

You turned back and faced John.

"Thank you John! I couldn't have done it without you!"

"BARK!"

You woke up from your dream, and hastily looked around. You saw.. Archimedes barking at something?

"Archimedes?? What are you doing here???"

Archimedes growled at something and you saw what it was.

Archimedes was growling at your pet (animal). You finally understood the situation.

"Joseph told you to not let anything near me.. right?"

Archimedes barked proudly.

You groaned and flopped back on your bed.

"That's it.. I'm settling this once and for all.."

And you started planning.

The next day, Medic took his usual place in your back yard, ready for another night.

He found that a cat had tipped over your trashcan last night, but it still made him extra careful. His blood shot eyes were drooping, and dark bags formed under his eyes.

He was surprised to see you drive away, instead of going to bed.

"(Y/n)!?!"

He quickly hopped into his car and followed you.

You kept driving and driving.. he followed you anxiously but realized something was strange.. you were driving towards.. the base?

You parked in front of the base, and walked in. Medic was definately surprised now. Nonetheless he walked in, only to be ambushed by his teammates.

"GOT YOU!"

"Ah piss! He's strong!"

Sniper and Heavy struggled to tie Medic up, and Spy sneaked behind him, and successfully stabbed Medic with a syringe.

You watched the whole scene with amusement, and Engineer walked up.

"So he's been followin' you all this time?"

You nodded, chewing your lip.

"Well thanks for bringing him back miss!"

You smiled and shook your head.

"No, thank you for helping! I would have called you sooner but I didn't know he lived here... in this.. place?"

Engineer coughed, remembering Medic saying something about his girlfriend not knowing anything about his... "job"

"Ah, well, what are you up to now?"

You smiled and saw Medic now fast asleep.

"I think I'll stay with him until he wakes up, he'll probably freak out when he knows I'm not in his sight. And I'll have to have a little talk with him when he gets up.."

Engineer nodded and showed you to Medic's room.

The men put the sleeping Medic back in his bed, and you laid right next to him, running your hands through his hair as he slept.

"You weirdo.."

Medic whimpered in his sleep.

You kissed his nose and hugged him as he slept on.
