Chapter 2

"So Kate what have you been doing in the last year or so?"
"Well I've been working my backside off in my course, and on the whole just been having fun. You?"
"Yeah pretty much the same as you, got anyone special?"
"Nope not really, you?"
"Same. You look great by the way."
"Thanks, ummm you too, so are you going skiing to then?"
"Yeah I'm going to the same resort we went to last year with a few friends." Oh god that's the resort were staying in.
"Oh really? So are we actually, how long are you staying there?"
"I'm staying two weeks, but some of my mates have to go after a week. I'm guessing your staying for two weeks too judging by the look on your face."
"Hahaha yeah... Unfortunately"
"Hahaha glad you've still kept your sense of humour, how's your family by the way?"
"Oh you know distraught were not still together, married with kids!!" Oh shit I definitely shouldn't have said that, pain flickered across James' face. "Oh god sorry I didn't mean..."
"Oh no no no it's fine it's fine, I'm not still crying over our break up!"
"Were  you ever crying over our break up? Last thing I heard you had about twenty new girlfriends." Oops that possibly sounded a bit sharp. "I think you've forgotten how much you meant to me and how much I loved you, otherwise you wouldn't be saying those things. I gotta go to the loo." There was an awkward pause whilst James got up until Jack said,
"Oh man you could've cut that tension with a knife!"
"Don't be so melodramatic Jack, it's just because it's practically the first time we've spoken since our break up."
"Harry won't be happy that James is going to the same place as us."
"Why does everyone keep acting like me and Harry are a thing, we had sex, once, it's not like we're now together!! Wait why wouldn't Harry be happy, he's not coming, and even if he was why would he care??!"
"Didn't Millie tell you? Harry is getting here the day after tomorrow his finals are today so he's just coming a few days late, and to answer your second question everyone knows Harry likes you, just no one can tell how you feel about him." Just as Jack stopped talking James sat back down, please please say he didn't hear any of that!!
"About who?" Oh great he did.
"Oh hi James, no one."
"You don't have to feel awkward around me we broke up ages ago!"
"Hahaha okay then, so basically there's this guy called Harry, wait you remember Harry right?"
"Yeah I think so, was he the tall one always playing Rugby?"
"Yeah that's him and so basically, we sort of slept together like a month ago and now everyone thinks were a thing."
"Oh so he likes you and you don't like him?"
"No, yes, well sort of, just I don't know if I like him or not, I mean he's really hot and stuff, but I don't know if I actually LIKE him like him, if you get me."
"Hahaha it's good to see your still just as decisive as ever! Surely if you slept with him you must have had some feelings for him?"
"I dunno I was sort of drunk and I guess I just got carried away in the moment, I never thought of it as serious, just, you know a casual one night thing. Clearly though I didn't make that obvious enough!"
"Just give the man a chance, who knows he may be 'the one', but then again sometimes the people who you think you're meant to be with just don't feel the same way." Clearly he was having a dig about how I rejected his proposal, I don't know where I'm at with him, it's good to be able to talk again, I didn't realise how much I missed him, or the way he flashes his cheeky smile and run his hands through his hair. It's something about the way he always seems to care about what you say that makes him a great friend, and I'd say he knows me better than anyone else. An attractive slim short girl with long blonde hair wearing a fur coat came up beside our row and glared at me viscously, before turning to James.
"James babe why haven't you come and spoken to us, we're all sitting back there with Will, please come, were missing all the laughter!"
She tugged at his shirt trying to make him stand up. He obeyed and followed her down. "I'll  catch up with you guys later yeah?"
"Uh yeah sure." I waited until he was gone until I exploded at Jack. "Oh my god, what the hell was her problem, did you see the way she glared at me?? She clearly couldn't stand the fact he was talking to other people, she didn't even say hi to us or even acknowledge our presence. What a bitch!!"
"Hahahahahaha calm down Emma, yes sure she was a bit cold, but she'd just seen, probably the guy she likes, talking to a beautiful girl! You can't tell me you wouldn't be slightly jealous if that happened to you?"
"Yeah true, but I wouldn't show it and look needy, I like to go with more of a hard to get approach."
"I think most guys in our course have found that out!"
"Ugh you make me sound so bad, would you rather me be s total slut and sleep with them all?"
We chatted about trivial things until the seatbelt sign went on and we were about to land. James came and sat back down and talked to Jack as we landed. When we finally got out of the airport and into the hotel coach I finally had a chance to see who James had come with, a few of them I recognised, like Will and Lottie, his cousin, but the others I had never seen before, all the girls were perfectly done up, their make up flawless and every single hair in place, and the guys all looked like they'd just come off a billboard. I sat with my friends at the front of the coach and of course Lana was just talking about the hot guys at the back of the coach, me and Millie looked at each other and smirked, that was all Lana was ever interested in! As we arrived at the resort i tackled my suitcase off the bus and desperately tried to drag it up the icy slippery staircase. Suddenly someone came up and grabbed me from behind, I turned around to see Will, "Boo!"
"Will holy cow I nearly peed myself!! Don't do that!!"
"Hahahaha, it's good to see you after such a long time! Need a hand with your bag?"
"Ah thanks that would be great, it's good to see some people know how to treat a proper Lady!"
"Hahahaha I'm guessing you've already spoken to James then?"
"Yeah, we uh, sat near each other on the plane, it was um... Interesting."
"I can imagine!"
"Anyway Will I'll catch up with you later yeah?"
"Yeah definitely, is your number still the same? So we can meet up sometime?"
"Oh yeah yeah it's the same."
"Okay cool, bye then!"
"Bye!"
I walked away towards my friends nearly slipping on the ice as I went. "Who was that hottie you were talking to?"
"Jesus Lana, he's called Will and I'm pretty sure he's single, but I could be wrong."
"Oooooh thanks, you might need to introduce us!" The only time Lana was ever friendly to me was when she wanted something, that basically summed her up to be honest! We checked in and went to find our rooms, Millie and I shared, Josh and Jack shared and Lana went solo. We all unpacked then everyone came into our room and we talked about what we wanted to do in the next few weeks and that sort of stuff.
Everyone had gone into their own rooms and we're going to bed, Millie was asking Lana if she could borrow something so I decided I'd just go to sleep. As I was lying there I heard Lana and Millie talking outside my door. "So did you tell her in the end, about Harry coming?"
"No I thought maybe she'd get with someone else before he arrives so I can have a chance with him, it's so annoying how she always has every guys attention. I mean, did you know she turned down a proposal from James? I bet she only broke up with him for attention!" I heard them giggling and I genuinely felt sick, I never knew Millie felt like this, why didn't she tell me? I'd have to confront her, but not now, now I'm going to sleep.
