He stood there for hours from the comfort of his bedroom window watching the cars go down the busy road. His little clammy hands pressed against the frosted glass, waiting for something that never would return.
How do you tell a little boy that he is an orphan? That a semi-truck came speeding down the intersection and crashed into his parents SUV.
How do you tell a boy that the only family he has left to take him in was an alcoholic uncle, who lived in a palace of harsh liquors and illegal substances. An alcoholic uncle who would cause the helpless boy black and blue bruises, and horrifying scars caused by events to traumatizing to discuss.
An upcoming life of hardship and living in fear, with no tears left to cry and no blood left to bleed.
Uneducated, Unsuccessful, Unhappy.
But the little boy was oblivious to the knowledge of his future, while he stood there with his little clammy hands pressed against the frosted glass, waiting for something that never would return.
