I rush in to the classroom and look around for a place to sit, but as soon as I see him I rush to his side. Grant smiles at me as I slide in to the seat next to him and I have to stop myself from hugging him.

"I had to fight off about five girls to save this seat." He whispers as our professor orders us to take out our books. "It's so worth it for you." I look at him and my eyes must have been bulging because he grins.

Half way through the hour Professor. Middleton says,
"I have decided to give an essay. You have two weeks to do it and you may have a partner. Write a play that you both had to act out and the script has to be seven pages long. Class dismissed."

I look over at Grant, who is already staring at me, and say, "Do you want to be partners. I mean for the essay, not anything else, maybe...I mean...-" I stutter but he puts his finger on my lips.
"Yes, I want to be partners for the essay, but maybe after I get to know you more we can be more then friend partners." He smiles and I could see a hint of blush on his face. I turn my head embarrassed, but I grin.

"Sure, for both things." I smile at him. "Well, we have forty-five minutes for lunch. Do you want to eat together?" But he was already up with his hand out for me to take.

"Of course I do." He pauses. "Do you just want to eat out in the yard?" He pulls me up and in to him like a hug but I don't move, I just position myself comfortably so we can walk.
"Yea, that sounds great!" We walk to the lawn and sit under a shady tree as the sun shines. "I love summer semesters, it means we can eat outside."

"Eat what, exactly?" Grant says. I shove him.
"Anything and everything." I laugh. I'm not very hungry so I lay on his shoulder and close my eyes. He wraps his arm around me casually, but as he does so I say, "Why me? I mean we aren't dating but we are friends even though we just met a couple hours ago. Trust me I love it, but you can have any girl but you chose me, I'm not even pretty."

He looks at my surprised but happy. "You are beautiful Jordan. I mean yes we don't know each other but I want to know you." He takes another breath as if to say something but instead he presses his lips against mine. At first I resist, confused, but then I relax. After what seems like a lifetime, he pulls away and smiles. "I told you you are beautiful."

I blush and feel like crying of happiness. A few girls around us are glaring at me or have sad expressions but I feel like they are getting the idea Grant is taken. "Do you want to meet at my apartment or yours for the essay?" I ask happily, in a new mood.

He takes a minute to think. "How about yours?" I nod my head in response. "Let's include a few kissing scenes, shall we?" He whispers. I just nod my head again, but with a grin.

I look at my watch and sigh. "Time to head for our next class, but at least you are in it." He smiles at me and helps me up.

"It makes me feel good to know that you like me, in every way." He says as we walk.

"It's not that hard, coming from a person who is amazing." I laugh happily. I was completely hopeless that morning, but an accident changing everything. This could possibly be a new start. I think.
