Thrid Person's Point Of View
Screeches of joy filled the park. A group of children gathered together and began to chatter about the next game they should play next. When they decided on the activity, Allison and Corey stood up and onto their feet. Mason, the smallest one, smiles and waits to be picked by one of the captains for the new game.
"Ladies first," The eleven-year-old boy smirked at the young girl.
"With my pleasure," Allison smiled at him, "Claire."
"Yes!" The blonde cheered as her pigtails bounced.
"Uh, Tristan," Corey rocked on his heels.
"Yeah," The boys high-fived and glanced over to the girls.
"Thomas."
The picks went on for a couple of more minutes before they all sprinted away from the opposing team. Allison huddled her team up and stared at the familiar faces. Thomas, Claire, Grey, and Heidi. Allison made a plan to split up and find a great hiding place. She wanted her friends to stay close, so would know when the signal goes off. After that, they would jump out and tag everyone on Corey's team.
"We're a team of winners," She smirked and extended her hand.
"Yeah, we are!" Thomas exclaimed and slammed down his hand on top of hers.
"Let's do this!" Claire and Heidi announced and joined in on the team handshake. When they placed their hands on Thomas and Allison's hand, she looked over to Grey.
"Grey?" She asked.
"What?" His eyes met hers.
"Are you going to join in?"
"Do I have to?"
"Yes," She chuckled to herself.
"If I have to," He dropped his hands on theirs.
"Winners on three! One, two three!"
"Winners!" All the yelled.
Corey's team was patiently waiting in their hiding spots, waiting for the enemy to show. As the team slowly approached them, Corey wiggled around and squatted on his toes. Allison's team quickly hid and Corey lost sight of them. He turned back to Mason, Jayce, Michael, and Emily. Corey's hand made a 'follow' gesture as he began to look around.
The parents in the back chuckled at their kids and compared them. Allison's and Corey's moms began to start a conversation about their young children. The older kids they had were rude to them now, and the younger ones are just a handful. The group of elders got silent as they seen the two teams get closer. As they became only a couple of feet away, Corey's team jumped up.
"Get them!" He shouted and glanced around the place for the other captain, "Come on, Allison. You know the captains have to go after each other. Stop hiding and be a man," He giggled while looking around.
Corey's back turned to her and she quietly rose up from her spot. While he was totally distracted, she glanced behind her and smirked when she seen the coast was clear. As his body slowly turned around, she lunged at him and knocked him backwards.
"Got you. I win," She laughed at him.
"That's no fair," Corey complained.
"Here," Allison held her hand out.
"Ugh. Fine," He grimly said and gripped her hand. When she went to yank him up, Corey pulled her down. Allison hit the ground and Corey took off sprinting away. "Guys! We won!" He cheered.
"No, you didn't!" Allison ran up to him.
"Yes, I did," His head titled upwards.
"Don't lie, Corey. You've never won. She's always beaten you," Grey yawned from the ground.
"Did you even move?" Corey stared at him.
"Does he ever?" Heidi asked.
"I think the answer to both of you questions is a no," Thomas giggled.
"Is he right?" Emily squatted next to Grey. All she got was Grey giving her a thumbs up as he closed his eyes.
"Sweetie! It's time to go! Go and grab your things!" Stella, Allison's mother, shouted.
"Aw. Mommy, just a few more minutes. Please?" Allison pleaded to her mother.
"Sorry, honey. It's time to go," Stella stood up and walked over to her daughter.
"Darn," Allison turned to her friends, "Well, I guess this is goodbye now," She sighed.
"Bye, Allison. See you later," Claire, Emily, and Heidi gave her a group hug.
"Goodbye," Corey gave her a quick one-armed hug.
Allison turned around and waved to her friends. They gave her small smiles and returned the waves. Her hand dropped to her side once she arrived at her small bag. She placed the soccer ball back into the bag and swung the bag over her shoulder. Allison ran past all of the parents and smiled at them. Her small body disappeared into the red Jeep Cherokee and her mother ran her hand over her head.
"Did you have fun?" She started the car.
"Yeah, lots of fun. I beat Corey," She boasted to her mother.
"Again?" Her mother chuckled.
"Yep. Always do," Allison closed one eye and pointed at herself.
"Are you ready to go home?"
"I guess."
"Here we go," Her mother grinned and started the car.
