I Hit a Wolf

It was the weekend of the festival all the plans were set, Grace couldn't wait. That Friday night Jade, Anna and Grace went out for a girls night they had a blast. Dinner a movie and frappes at Oliver's. Rest was well deserved. As the girls slept peacefully that night fate was preparing itself for what was to come. At 6 Am the next morning Grace got up to go to the arena for skating practice. It went by rather smoothly. After practice Grace met her friends at the carnival. It was packed. They walked shopped and giggled all day long. Before they left they ran into a lady at a booth selling necklaces. They were beautiful. Each one was unique. There were a series of different pendants each different. Grace found one that had a receding moon inside a gorgeous pendant with her birth stone Garnet hanging off the bottom. It was meant for royalty. Of coarse she couldn't refuse. She put it on right after purchasing it. Who knew it would .change her life forever.

A week went by and life went on as usual. Grace continued her normal routine; school, skating, work, friends, repeat. One night grace was in the car driving home from skating late on a Wednesday night. It was snowing and extremely hard to see. It wasn't her fault it jumped out of no where, now it was lying on the road possibly dead. Grace got out of the car and walked slowly to the object she just hit. She stood in aww as she realized what it was. There on the road was a beautiful big grey wolf. For some unknown reason Grace felt compelled to help it. She picked it up by its paws and unfortunately being so heavy had to drag it. As she got to the truck door she realized she couldn't lift it. It was too high. The wolf as if on command opened it's eyes. They were the darkest most beautiful shade of blue she had ever seen. It lifted its head slightly and tried to get up failing miserably. Grace pushed up on the wolf as it tried to stand with better luck this time. The wolf stood on all fours still wobbly. Knowing it would be ok Grace got back into the truck. As she prepared to leave the wolf came to stand in front of the vehicle. Grace stopped and looked at it. It seemed worried and hurt. Could wolves have emotions? She knew she couldn't just leave it there so she got back out and opened the passenger seat door. The wolf hopped in and laid down on the seat. Grace got back in and started to drive. What was she doing? What was she going to do with a wolf? She thought as she drove home to her three bedroom house. When she got home she opened the door and let the wolf out. It followed her up to the front door and sat there. Grace unlocked the door and opened it, still waiting patiently the wolf sat there. Grace opened the door wider to let it in. She quickly set out a bed with a mattress she had lying around and a few towels. The wolf laid down and instantly fell asleep. Grace left the wolf sleeping as she too went to bed.
The next morning when Grace went to check on the wolf it wasn't there. Instead lying on the make shift bed was a man completely naked and snoring rather loudly. Grace screamed and threw a blanket at the man. Immediately waking up with fear in his eyes. They were the same blue as the wolves.
"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" Grace screamed.
"My name is Emmet, I'm 22 years old and I know this sounds weird but I am the wolf you rescued last night."
Grace stood shocked not knowing what to say or how to respond.
"Prove it" was all she could manage.
Without warning Emmet was shifting into a wolf. His bones cracked breaking healing and re braking until he was a wolf. She was in complete aww as she stared at the wolf who just changed from a man. The wolf turned back into a man and wrapped the blanket around him self.
"How?" Was all Grace got out as she couldn't believe what she had just witnessed. Emmet just stared at her he knew she was human so this was going to be difficult to explain.
"Like I said I know it sounds crazy but wear wolves are real except we are more closely related to those in Twilight then those in Harry Potter" Emmet examined grinning slightly at the last part. "We all live together back in the forest away from the human world, last night I was checking the boarders when I heard your voice and and smelt your intoxicating sent. Before I knew it I had been hit by your truck which by the way is extremely sexy that you drive a pick up. Any way you are my mate or in human terms soul mate and I'm yours."
Grace stood there in awe as she had no words. Emmet noticed her start to stumble and helped her sit down. As soon as they touched Grace could feel butterfly's in her stomach and tingles where his skin met hers. She had read many stories about wear wolves and knew exactly what a mate was and how the bonding process worked but she was only 20 and still had a great deal to do with her life.
