The Cold Hold

They were hundred miles off the ground on a red hot air balloon Kayla was with her best friends jane, jake, and jenny. Kayla thought it was funny that they all started with J which she liked.

"This was a great idea jane for us to all do this" Kayla said with a beaming smile she moved her long Brown hair out of her face.

"I know it!, I'm just excited that you all came" Jane beamed back looking around everyone.

"I didn't, i, I wanted to stay on the ground" jenny was sitting in the corner of the hot air balloon.

"Oh come now don't be so sour" jake was her brother who stood next to her " you have to at lest stand up and look down once"

"Yea he has a point what the point of living if well, your not living it to the fullest" Kayla walked over to jenny and squatted next to her.

"I have no idea how you convinced me in the first place" jenny snapped at them. Jake laughed "come now no need for that"

Jane looked toward them "any more people on that side were going to be lop sided and come crashing down" jane smiled the jokingly shook the basket they were in.

"Stop THAT"! Jenny cried out "yea jane not cool" jake backed up his sister. "Yea, yea but I will do it again if she doesn't look" she started up shaking the basket again.

"Ok, oook, I WILL "! Jane stopped and jake helped jenny slowly stand up. she peeked over the basket her eyes widened and she stood the test of the way up "amazing"

Kayla smiled "it truly is" she hugged the side of jenny as she look out into the forest under them.

"Wow Kayla you smile about anything" said jake "ha ha, what do you mean jake" asked Kayla she turned around to face jake.

"You never stop smileing even when jane was shakeing us around you were still smileing"

"Well I love you guys, even when you being a butt" Kayla looked at Jane when she said the last part. Jane only smiled and rolled her eyes jenny looked at Kayla after taking in the amazing veiw. "It's true I don't think I've ever seen you not smile" "there you have it, Kayla the smiling master" said Jane with a grin.

"Aw we should call you miss smiley" jenny said laughing a little. Perfect said jake with his hands in his pockets. The rest of the time everyone hung out in the balloon taking in the warm air. They were staying at Jane's parents rich house in the forest.

When they finally landed Jake went to the room he was in he was sharing with his sister who went to the kitchen to get a juice box. Jane when to her room that she shared with Kayla who headed to the bath room. It was late and everyone was getting reader for bed. Kayla normally was the last one to get ready.

Everyone was laying down Kayla walked past an opean door of jake and Jenny's room. She saw jenny spread out in the floor and jake snoring on the bed. Kayla giggled she walked into the bath room she stood in front of the mirror smiling a big smile but is faded to a frown. That was her real smile she relaxed she looked really bad. Her eyes looked dazed and distent and that's how she felt all the time with friends. Sure there was some split moment were she wasn't mersrable but it was normally just like this.
