My name is Perception. I am 16, living in a world filled with the remains of terror and distrust, but most importantly, a world filled with Prehl. The few survivors are either marauders, plaints, or downright lucky to have survived the initial devastation. Some though, were considered rarer than others. We call them Dabes. They were somehow gifted with an immunity gene that caused Prehl to be ineffective. This, of course, caused many problems with the civilians of Chicago, and across the world. Many were hunted down, some even killed in hopes that another could be saved, but nothing worked until a scientist named Anthony Bates figured out a way to rid people of the disease. Bates' methods were untold to the world in fear of recreation or experimentation (From what I know of.), yet teams of remaining survivor brigades still were deployed to every city-state still in existence to collect people with the immunity. Chicago being one of the largest left, we were divided into factions. Every faction had 3 specific qualities. Some were warfare or medical advantage, even simple gifts like crafting or farming. Each to their own, we were sent to a single school from time of development to the time of procreation. Here we are ordered into one of the 7 factions. Here we find out who we will be, and what there is to come.
But no one would have expected what happens to those who stray from the lines of surity. They are called the unfortold.
And thus how my story begins;
