It was dark, but yet way to bright

that kind of unnatural light that always gleams off a snow covered city

the wind was harsh against my face, whipping my hair into a frenzy

I glanced over the ledge of the high rise, at the cars passing below

always so loud they seemed to quite now almost to nonexistence

I should be freezing  my mind told me, only in my pajamas and soggy slippers

it must be at least 12 below zero, but yet

but all i felt was

Numb

and then I heard the voices, they broke the silence

I had come to think would never end

they started as a small murmur in the distance  then

it got louder   or rather one voice started yelling

I stood for a moment   it was strange

the voice almost sounded   familiar

but that was before

Before I was pushed

I woke up from the dream with a start. I looked around my room trying to regain my composure.

"I'm okay, i'm okay i'm not falling of a twenty story building i'm okay" i said to myself the amount of times I've had this conversation with myself is almost laughable

but not quite

not in anyway calming down, i looked over to my bedside clock

"are you kidding me????" I moaned at my clock. why does this dream have to be so ungodly punctual?!?! it was again 2:12 am on the nose. well there is no way i'm getting back to sleep anytime soon. I pushed my 3 comforters off, and headed to the kitchen.

An I know what your thinking 3 comforters??? that's a lot of blankets. well that does not include the 2 I kicked off in my sleep, but don't judge its winter and its Montana and I cant afford good heat off my prestigious waitress gig. I stepped onto the cold wooden floor of my kitchen, and thought to myself 'god I need to get a rug.' As I was getting out my ingredients for hot coco, I don't like coffee.

I began to think about my dream and what it could possibly mean, I just don't understand mostly because I've never even lived in a city!! I've lived in this small town in Montana most of my life and now in this smaller apartment. I joke causing myself to laugh. maybe it doesn't mean anything besides once I wake up I don't recognize the voices anyway maybe my imaginations just a little to overactive .

The beep of the microwave lets me know my coco's done, whatever i'll just think about it when i'm more awake. I hobble my way over to my living room glancing at my hallway mirror along the way but what i see makes me stop dead in my tracks. I feel my pulse quicken, no what i saw couldn't be real. I feel a shiver run down my back, as my hairs stand on end.

"No No No, its not real..." I turn back to the mirror and see something, something that cannot be possible. i had always gotten complements how my hazel green-blue to orange eyes would change with my mood but.... this...... this isn't physical possible. I got closer to the mirror only to see, my eyes were no longer the color I loved so dearly...

They were golden
