By Your Side (Justin Bieber Fanfiction)

Chapter 1

I wake up due to the sunlight coming through my window shining right into my eyes. There's always sunlight here in Florida, but it also rains a lot. You might be thinking I live in the popular cities in Florida, but I don't. I live in a very small town in Florida where everyone knows each other.  I stretch my arms and yawn a few times and glance at my phone to check what time it is. 7:16am. I woke up earlier than I thought. I decided to grab breakfast at my favorite cafe, Barismo. I walk there almost everyday just to get some fresh air and be alone most of the time without my pestering boyfriend around.

About my boyfriend...you see he can be so sweet and caring, but other times he can be so controlling and demanding. I understand he's like that to protect me from other boys hitting on me, but I do not need to be babied by him. We've been together since I was 16 and I turn 18 next week. I guess time really does fly.

I walk into the cafe and the waitress already has my order down since I go there so much.  I don't really know the waitress, but I've seen her around a lot. She's about my age and we are about the opposite. I have blonde straight hair and blue eyes and she has brown wavy hair and brown eyes. She's still really pretty. She walks towards me and hands me my cup of coffee.

"Thank you," I say with a smile. "I'm Grace and I'm pretty sure you recognize me since I'm always here"

"Yes, hi! My name is Alex! It's very nice to meet you! We don't really get a lot of customers here since it's a small cafe so I enjoy working here." She says while sitting in the chair across me.

"Yeah I really enjoy it. I think about my future here a lot."

"What do you want your future to be like?" She asks while taking a sip from her own cup.

"I honestly have no clue. I really want to move somewhere just to explore, but my boyfriend doesn't think it's safe for me."

"Your boyfriend shouldn't be telling you what to do about your future, I mean it's YOUR future. Hey I gotta get back to work, but it was nice meeting you! Send me a text so we can hang out or something!"

I smile while she starts writing her number on her notepad. She rips the paper off the notepad and hands it to me.

"Bye Grace! Have a great day." She says while walking away.

I smile back. This has been a great start of the day. I made a friend. My other friends moved out of the town and one of the reasons was because they didn't think my boyfriend, Matt, was a safe person. I guess they aren't really my friends.

I start to head back and I grab my phone out of my pocket and decide to send Alex a text to make sure she knows it me and not some creep. As I was walking and texting, I suddenly feel my phone fly out of my hand and I see myself on the concrete next to this other boy.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" He asks with a worried look on his face while helping me up.

"Yeah I'm fine. I shouldn't have been texting and walking at the same time. I'm sorry."

"You're fine. My name is Justin." He says with a smile on his face

"I'm Grace. You look new."

"Yeah I moved here alone even though I'm only 18 years old. I just wanted to get away from everything and have a fresh start. I'm looking for some place to call home. Have you been living here for a while?" He asks.

"Yes I've been living here since I was born. I live with my foster parents since both my parents went missing 2 weeks after I was born."

"Oh I'm so sorry. I'm glad I met someone on my first day here." He says looking relieved.

He's really cute. Wait...stop it you have Matt.

"I heard you're looking for a place to stay. There's a house right across from mine that's on sale. Do you want to check that out?" I smile.

He smiles, "Yes and thank you so much." We start walking towards my house and we don't even talk. I can tell he looks a little nervous, but I just shake it off.

"Here we are. This is the house you could possibly rent." I say gesturing him to the house.

"Wow it looks amazing and its not too small and not too big. I'll take it! You have a great taste in houses."

I laugh at his comment. Justin was a really sweet guy and any girl would be lucky to have him. I just don't think I'm the one since I already have Matt.

"Hey Justin I better get going. My foster parents are probably wondering where I went. I'll see you soon?" I say while walking away.

"Wait!" he chases after me and takes my hand, "Um I-I didn't get your number. You know just to stay in contact with each other since you are my first friend I made here." I scribble my number on his hand since we didn't have any paper.

"It was really nice meeting you Grace and once you walk into your house, expect a text from me." He says smirking.

"You too Justin. I hope I receive that text." I say and wink before I turn around. It's been a great day without Matt all over me. I started to wonder where he could be. I just shook it off and greeted my fosters parents and went upstairs to take a shower. Right after I finished my shower, my phone dinged and I got a text from unknown user.

Unknown: Hey it's Justin! :)

Grace: Oh hey! You texted me!

Justin: I'm loving my new house thanks to you!

Grace: No problem! Hope you liked it!

Justin: What are your plans for tomorrow? I wanna hang out with you and catch up on things.

Grace: Umm I'm not sure but just warning you my boyfriend is really protective and he's never okay with me hanging out with other boys, but I think I can! We can go to the Barismo cafe!

Justin: Ah I understand and okay sounds good. I'll pick you up at 3 :) can't wait!

Grace: Okay! I'm gonna go to sleep now it's been a long day goodnight!

Justin: Loser..haha jk jk goodnight!

I feel my eyes start to shut and I doze off to sleep.
