DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT I HAVE BECOME?

my limbs have transformed into this,
this being for which redemption does not exist;
the night is where i make my home
now, all SNARLING DESPERATE WRETCHED --
sludge pours into my heart with
every begrudging pump it takes
to breath life into my paper thin lungs.

there are no words to describe me.

even i do not know what i am anymore.

DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT I HAVE BECOME?

i note that i am tired and hungry
(always hungry, but for what, i do not know)
and i snap with curled lips and sharp teeth,
glaring as if to say
TRY ME I DARE YOU DO IT --
they cower and run with their tails in
between their legs because i have challenged them to a bloodbath that they cannot
ever have the hope of winning.

after all, only fools rush the stuff of nightmares.

and i? i am the worst of them all.

DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT I HAVE BECOME?

i am explosive, volatile, a volcano
with lava lurking beneath the surface
ready to explode whenever
I AM READY TO KILL MAIM DESTROY
and everything converges on this one point and
suddenly i am inundated with this inexplicable
red before my eyes it splashes and washes over
EVERYTHING ALL I SEE IS RED RED RED

there is blood on my tongue and i crave more.

there is desolation in my bones. i embrace it.

LOOK AT ME DO YOU SEE
ME DO YOU SEE IT
WHAT I HAVE BECOME --

DO YOU SEE IT
WHAT HAPPENED TO ME SURELY
I AM NO LONGER HUMAN --

monster, you scream. you are a monster.

i smile that bloody grin because
you have finally given a name
to your deepest fear.

DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT YOU HAVE BECOME?

humans create their own nightmares,
hand-crafted with stifling fear and debilitating
madness and turmoil so powerful it wrecks
their very souls.

i am your monster.

the question is, will you keep me?
