why we wont work

One- the beginning

"Today is the big alphas bash" my little sister murmured. I ran my fingers through her hair.
"I know emmalyn."
"You have to go sis" she says her eyes closing slowly.
"You can't fake sick again huh?" I ask teasingly. She grins and swats me lightly. "I know em. I'm going but I'll be back as soon as I can." She smiles then turns, going back to sleep.

I hate the alpha. He believes he is superior , he thinks everyone should fawn over him because who wouldn't kill to be his mate? Well I wouldn't. I'd kill not to be his mate. He holds a party every year , in spring for all girls 16 and older to go to, even if they have a mate they have to go, until alpha Matthew finds his mate the party will go every year. He is already 20. It's my first year going. I couldn't go last year as Emmalyn was extremely sick and I'm the only one here to take care of her. If you don't go unless you're on your death bed or you got special permission you are thrown in jail. So I figure I have to get around.

I get up and leave the room. I go in the side room which is more like closet and grab some skinny jeans and a long sleeve shirt with a scarf. I put my hair down and put a little of the makeup I have on. I find some boots and slide them on and put some fruit on the table as I head out. I wish I could bring my knife but I'd probably be killed for having it on me with the alpha around. I slip my phone in my pocket. At least one good thing came from his party , I don't have work or school today. With a sigh I close the door behind me, I'm up early but it's a long walk.
