Piper's POV

"What about Jake? He is so cute and your skin tones totally match. " Ugh Kim won't shut up!

"How many times do I have to tell you I don't want a boyfriend?"

"Ok Ok. No boyfriend. What about a friend boy? Those are always nice. Make a few girls jealous."

Kim and I are in my room. She is eating all the candy from my stash as I clean my closet.

I throw a shoe at her hoping to get my point across but with her you never really know. Most things go in one ear and out the other.

"Well that hurt."

"Good. I'm perfectly happy being single and alone. If any guy wants to be my friend they can come to me."

"OMG you're so old fashioned. No one waits for the guy anymore."

"I don't want to fall hard for a guy and get left stranded when he finds someone with a better body than me. Plus no guy has ever shown any interest in me before. So what's the point."

"OMG!! Piper do you really not see how guys look at you. None of them ask you out cause you send out that 'I hate you' vibe anytime someone tries to talk to you. But guys find you totally hot"

"Could you please stop using OMG like its a real word."

"It is a real word. It's in the dictionary."

"Fine if I stop bugging you about killing the English language will you stop bugging me about getting a 'friend boy'?"

"No I won't let this go! I have to leave now to babysit those kids but this conversation is not over"

"Don't those kids have a brother our age? Why doesn't he babysit them?"

"Something about his parents not trusting him. I've never actually seen him though. He is always in his room or out with friends. "

"Weird"

"OMG!" Ugh " You should come with me! I swear those kids are the devil. I could always use extra help. And who better than my best friend? I'm sure their parents won't mind."

"Sorry. I can't today I need to study for that test tomorrow. Next time I'll come with you."

"Fine. But I don't see why you need to study anyways. You're the smartest girl in our class. Maybe even the smartest person if it wasn't for Jim. I swear that guy are a textbook when he was a baby."

"Bye Kimmy!"

"Bye. Text me later"

I love hanging with her. Even if she annoys me she's still my best friend. Kim is pretty popular where as I'm not. It's a miracle we are even friends. She's so out going and pretty with her long blond hair. My hair is the color of mud and it doesn't help that I'm super shy.

I know she just wants what's best for me but I really don't see what's so great about having a boyfriend. I mean I've read plenty of books and seen the movies but all those stories are fictional. They would never happen in real life. Especially to me.
