Uncle John bent down to help me up when something caught his eye.
"Methohexital? Why are they giving you Methohexital?" He said.
"What's Metha...Metha...that thing you just said?" I asked.
"Methohexital is a drug that doctors give you before you go into surgery to make you fall asleep." He said. "Why would they be giving you this you're not going into surgery."
"Um, thanks for the concern, but my main priority right now is getting up off the floor." I said.
Uncle John helped me off the floor and onto my bed. As Uncle John turned away, he did a double take at the pill bottles on the table. It was almost as if he noticed something.
"Destiny can you hand me one of those pill bottles?" He asked.
"Which one?" I said.
"Any of them just hurry up."
"Okay, Okay here." I said.
"Valium, you smart ba-"
"Uncle John!" I yelled.
"Bat, I was going to say bat."
"Bat?" I said sarcastically.
"Yes, bat! Now what's the name on rest of the pill bottles? "
"They all say Valium. Why, what's the problem?"
"Valium is the problem. It's a prescription medicine to help with arrhythmia." He said.
"Uncle John, I don't know if you've been paying attention, but the reason I'm in the hospital is because I have arrhythmia. I mean, Dr. Philips said it not two minutes ago"
"It's not for your age group smarty. One of the side affects is muscle weakness. It shouldn't be this bad though...Oh my God." he said.
"What?"
"They're drugging you like this on purpose. They're trying to make you weak and tired, " he looked back at me, "take that IV out of your arm, now!"
"Okay," I took the IV out of my arm, "Uncle John what's going on? Why are they drugging me like this on purpose?"
"I don't know, but I do know that we need to go, like now." He said.
"I don't know if you've noticed, but I can't walk...or move for that matter."
At the worst possible moment Dr. Philips walked in to check on me.
"Alright Destiny how are you doing?" he asked with that same over sized smile.
Uncle John gave me one of those looks saying, don't say anything or we're dead.
"I'm feeling fine thank you." I said.
All of a sudden I remembered I had taken the IV out of my arm and if Dr. Philips saw it he would know something was up.
"Alright just let me check your IV-" he said.
"No! Um...my Uncle John has a few questions he would like to ask you in the hall first." I worried Dr. Philips would see right through my excuse, but he seemed okay with it.
"Sure," he said in a creepy tone, "step outside with me."
When they were safely outside I found the IV and went to put it back in my arm when I realized, I'm not a doctor and I have no idea how to put this thing back in and the hole were it had previously been was no where to be seen. I laid there thinking about the problem I was facing. If I put this in wrong I could really hurt myself. All of a sudden I heard Uncle John and Dr.Philips starting to walk back to the door. I did the best I could trying to make it look like it was in my arm by tapping over it and letting the needle lay on top of my skin. I hoped it would look legit, but the needle was stinking out a little at the top because the tape was a little small. I quickly put some clothes on that Uncle John had packed and tucked myself under the blankets.
