Dawn!

Chapter one: Lost

Everyone is laughing around the bonfire tonight. I sit there staring at the bonfire, hearing the fire crack in the distance and in the background I could hear people laughing. But I am still blocking out he background noises and staring at the fire.

"Hey, earth to Maya!!!!I need to tell you something!" Lucy says as I slowly start to go back to reality.

"Sorry I was just thinking.....about.....uhh, never mind. What's up?" I say as I push my long hazel brown hair behind my ear and look down to stare at my cup with a small grin.

"So everyone has been talking about it, is Matt and Brian going to New York? They say that Brian's dad is........." As Lucy was talking I slowly blank out and loose interest into what she is saying but I suddenly pay attention to a dark quick shadow in the woods.

"So what do you think? Honestly I think.....," I cut her off quickly and say to her "..um I'm gonna go to the truck and fill up my cup once again, but I will come back, sorry." I say with a small hint of sympathy an looked at her, as I turn to walk away, I hear her huff as if she was annoyed at me but I didn't care, no right now anyway.

I walked away and followed into the woods to see what could possibly be that fast movement.

I kept following and kept walking and walking. I wasn't even paying attention of how far I walked and what way I came from. I turned around and stared back at the trail that I possibly could have come from. I looked around and pulled my phone out from my pocket to see the time. 12:50 AM. I search through my contacts and see if I could call someone but there was no reception from where I was standing.

I felt light raindrops fall from the sky and land on my face. One drop turned to many more an soon the rain become a lot more heavier. I look up to the sky to see no stars but just a pitch black sky. I look back at the path I walked from and saw lightning strike in the distance. Then before I could even blink I see the lighting strike a giant tree and the tree slowly fell next to me. That was the moment I knew that I need to.. RUN!! NOW!!
