I'm tired. My legs are tired. My heart is tired. But I feel like I should go on. I don't know where I'm going, my clothes are damped from the pouring rain. The mascara is stained on my cheeks but I couldn't care less.
I can't stop these tears. They're like waterfalls. They never stop. Unending. So is the pain. It hurts. So bad. I never want to go back there again. I don't want to see him. Ever.
My legs bring me to this park. I burst into tears again. Why? Why me? Why did he have to do this after all these years? My lips are quivering from the cold. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. I feel footsteps coming near me. My head is heavy and painful. I tried standing up but I felt weak and fell. My face hitting the hard ground. The next thing I saw was darkness.
=========================
I slowly opened my eyes to a turquoise ceiling. I blinked once. Twice. I looked around the room. It was a carpeted room with an office like design and a wide glass window where you can see the whole city. This isn't my room alright. I tried sitting up but my head was throbbing. I looked to my side there were several medicines and a glass of water. Where Am I?
Then suddenly the door flew open and a boy my age went inside with a tray of eggs, bacon, rice, and a chocolate drink. My stomach grumbled and I heard him chuckle. I looked at him and he just smiled at me his dimples showing. He had devilish looks. His curly brown hair was disheveled and his blue eyes boring into mine, his lips were pinkish and quite kissable, his smile is contagious. He has fair skin. Woah. He pretty much looks like a fallen angel or something.
"Are you feeling better now? You had a high fever last night. Here, these are for you." his gentle voice said and laid the tray on my lap. He went to my side and I felt his soft warm hand on my forehead. My heart immedietly reacted and was beating really fast. He got the thermometer on the table beside me and checked my temperature. Just as he was going to put it in my mouth I pushed him softly.
"I-Im fine. Thank you." I whispered with a cough. Great, even my voice is hoarse and my throat is sore.
"Nope, I don't think so. That cough didn't help though." he chuckled and went near me and put the thermometer under my tongue. He also had a tub of water and made the towel damp while he put it on my forehead. There was a moment of silence before he spoke again.
"By the way, I'm Charlie. I happened to pass by the park last night. Then I saw you. You had a pretty high fever and you passed out. So I brought you to my house and Nana, our housemaid changed you into my warm clothes. So I guess you have to stay here until you get better." he explained. I looked down at myself, I was wearing an oversized t-shirt and baggy shorts. He got the thermometer and checked. He clicked his tongue and shook his head.
"Well, I guess you'll be staying here longer than I thought. Your fever is pretty high. Hmm.. I guess we could bring you to the hospita-" My eyes widened and I shook my head rapidly causing my head to get dizzy.
"N-No!! I-I'm fine! Thank you for your kindness but I better be going so-" he cut me off by putting his hands on my mouth. My eyes widened at what he did. And he gave me a warm smile.
"Look, Miss..." he trailed off. "Hailey." I said.
"Look, Hailey. I'm not going to do anything wrong. You can stay here until you get better." He assured me. Then he smiled a sly smile.
"Ooor.... You can maybe share to me about what happened and who cruel monster made you cry last night?" he asked softly. I inhaled deep.
