Rob Martin tugged his shirt off and threw it over his shoulder, making a soft splat from where it landed on the floor. The shirt was soaked with his sweat from working out on the gym and the poor shirt wouldn't be given notice until another shirt was thrown and they became a stinking heap.
He sat on the bed and pushed his shoes off as he fished another shirt from his drawer, choosing a plain white shirt with ripped sleeves. He's got about an hour to prepare for their dinner date with his partner. He sent a quick e-mail to his partner, then smiled foolishly when he got a short, cheesy reply.

He trudged down the stairs and into the kitchen where he fired up the burner, flipping pans and spatulas. He set the table with a bottle of wine in a bucket filled with ice and the food he prepared. He even searched the cupboards for candles.

Talk about being romantic.

An hour later when all was set and he was dressed in a fine suit, the doorbell rang and he hastily bolted to the door, flicking the lights off to make the candle flood the room with romantic glow. He straightened his tie and smiled before opening the door.

The last thing Rob Martin saw was his chest ripped open and the all-too-familiar pair of eyes that looked only at him. With love.
