Beep beep beep beep. The constant ringing of my alarm echoed in my ears and bounced off my bedroom walls. I knew I had to get up but as always my bed became this snugly quicksand I never wanted to leave. My eyes were barely open and thoughts were racing to my mind as if I forget everything and suddenly had to remember it all at once. Getting up wasn't going to be the hardest part of the day. Today was the day, an important point in my story book of a life, the first day of high school. I got up extra early that day, naive and excited for what was to come. I trudged downstairs and actually ate breakfast which I would never do again after that day. I ran back upstairs with my new found energy from the reheated left overs I scarfed down. I got ready, put on my makeup, put on my clothes, did my hair and went to school.  When I arrived it felt like this unknown territory that I had to explore. All freshman had to report to the cafeteria to get their schedules for their classes. When I got my schedule I saw some of my friends from my middle school, I ran over to them excited, some of them had 1st period with me so when the bell rang we all walked to class together. For some unknown reason one of my classes was choir when I didn't sign up for it at all. When my friends and I got to class everyone had to sit in alphabetical order so I found the seat that literally had my name on it and sat down. I looked around the room saw a few familiar faces but for the most part I had no idea who any one these people were. My teacher welcomed us and of course we all had to play what I like to call "the first day of school game" where we all "get to know each other" and "get on our feet and meet our classmates." The bullshit we go through so we don't actually have to do any work. Next thing I knew the bell rang and off to 2nd period I went. Again I found the seat with my name on it and sat down. The teacher had a very creative game for us, her instructions were as follows: turn your desks to face the people around you it should be in groups of 3-4, there are toilet paper roles at your "tables", each of you will roll out as much as you think you'd need to get the job done. Everyone was laughing and I looked at my 2 "partners" for this game, a boy with glasses and a girl with blonde hair blue eyes, and glasses too. The girl and I rolled out a few squares and passed it to the boy, he laughed and ripped off a tiny corner of a square and said "This'll do it." We all laughed and the boy and girl started talking I instantly realized they knew each other and most likely came from the same middle school. The teacher spoke again and gave us the final directions: for each square you have you have to tell 1 fact about yourself, go! Everyone sighed and scoffed. The boy laughed and said "well good thing I didn't get that much, my names Aden by the way." The girl went next, "My names Annie..." she continued with her facts and then after her I went "My names Jade...." And I continued with my facts. After that the 3 of us just continued to talk as if we were old friends it was really nice. The day just went on and I had gotten through my first day of high school.
