I sat amongst the other castaways in horror as the leader of this whole operation eyeballed each one of us. I kept my head down as there was a little scream of a little child. The gaze from the leader changed right as he was about to look at me.
"Show no mercy men. We will have no... distractions." And with that, three of his men were aiming their guns at a small, scrawny girl I had seen earlier. I had given her food I had stolen, and now she was staring at the end of the barrel of a gun of the enemy.
Suddenly, she disappeared, and the room went dark. Once the lights had turned back on, the guards were gone. The leader was calling in all of his forces already, which meant that I needed to act fast. I snuck through the now standing crowd and got closer to the leader. "Sir" as they called him. Nobody knew of the real gender which could be a plus on his part, but not on ours. We don't have anything to use against him. He is extremely flexible and nimble, which makes a good escape. That's why it is so hard to catch the leader. He is also dangerous and cruel. He will kill all who gets in his way. We are in the rebellion, all of us who were just caught. Of course this wasn't all of us. This was hardly even a fraction of the rebellious capitol of Mesa, the closest planet to the ship of this mysterious leader.
This all began back when I was shy of six years old. My mother and father were feeding me the last meal from them. It was a potato soup. The potatoes and the rest of the vegetables had come from our fresh garden. It was the best blessing that they had ever gotten. Right before I got the last bite of the soup, he marched in. My parents were the leader of the rebellion and were planning on attacking them the next day. A snitch on the inside took pictures of their operation and sent all of the blueprints and plans of destroying the whole ship that caused most of the deaths of innocent people.
I wasn't about to let that snitch get away with the death of my parents. I just needed to find him now. The snitch's name was Octon. He had been my family's friend for generations. No one knew how he stayed alive for so long. The first generation did, however, the prized possession of my family's line had been stolen the night that Octon had lead the capitol to my home. I will find him and get my revenge, but I had to get the book back with all of the history of my family. I'm sure the leader of the pure has already attempted to understand what has gone on through the generations. Each one learning a new technique.
~Meanwhile in the pure base~
"I don't understand. Nothing is working against this silly lock. My father would be disappointed of me. I must try everything to get this dang thing open. The lock is almost impenetrable and the cover made of fireproof fabric." The leader's eyes blazed underneath the mask, "WHERE HAVE I GONE WRONG?!?" The leader started hitting everything with anger and hate."I must figure out your secret. Everything has a secret!"
He continued to throw and destroy everything around him, until everything was gone, then he realized something. "There is one thing that is so obvious. Something that we must find." He lowered his voice to a whisper, "The child is still alive isn't he?"
His men stared at each other for a second, "The prophecy is real?...sir." one said quietly.
"I feel his presence among us." He paused and looked at the book one last time and yelled, "FIND HIM! TAKE HIM, AND BRING HIM TO ME!" He looked back at them, "I need him alive... for only a few moments."
They all departed. Troops after troops with artillery and magical power that was of the leader's father. "Soon you will be mine Count Fray. Your whole line has feared my father and his destruction, now you meet your doom and the end of the whole Fray!"
~Back in Mesa (Present day)~
"Hey kid. You mind getting me like an apple or something. My sister is really sick and needs to eat something healthy." The kid looked up at me, scanning me from head to toe.
"You don't have a sister, do you?" he said in a thick British accent.
I looked down at him in surprise. Something about this kid was strange. I liked it. It was exactly what I needed to pull off some of the objective headquarters wanted me to do. "No, I don't. How would you know that kid?"
"I see who lives here and where they go. We have so many people who are more singular here than couples." We both looked around at the whole town then back at each other, "And we can both tell why. These are definitely not the best parts with the most attractive people either."
"You are right about all of that, but some of these people are in disguise. They work as a team so we can beat the pure rebellion against us. They don't consider themselves rebels, but really they started a fight with us." I looked around because I had heard the all too familiar sound of the aircraft assault vehicles. they all were coming from all directions, but trapping who?
"Fray! You can no longer hide from us. We have found you and surrounded you so you cannot escape. What are your last thoughts?"
"Fray!" Someone motioned in the dark, "Follow me!" I ran toward the mysterious figure, but hesitated. That aircraft might be the only way to get my family's legacy back. I shook the thought from my head.
"Create a distraction for me, " I said into the arm communication system or ACS for short.
Immediately the whole square turned into chaos. The old mud building crushing under the fire of both the pures and the rebellion. I stayed under cover and headed to the closest cargo ship, knocking out one guard was all I needed. There were several in there, so I waited until I knew that one was coming out. That's when I knocked him out and took his uniform.
"Show no mercy children. We have to find Fray at all costs... for the leader!"
"Yea!" the others said. The general turned back around and looked into the piloting station. I slowly walked up and tossed her out of the plane. Then I knocked out the other guards. I then set the autopilot to take me back to the ship it had come from.
This ship wasn't in the best condition, it did fly and do all of the necessities. The radio signal came on.
"Sir! The fugitive is on a ship! Be prepared for anything. He packs a punch."
"There is no need for you anymore general. Let me handle this... situation. It will be quick and easy. Just one touch of his mind with my dark powers will melt his brain once he opens the book for me."
With that, the line went dead. I was almost there by the GPS saying so. The ship was much larger than what my parents had described it as. It was... a planet, and it took any debris from space that flowed near it and made the outer area stronger with each passing minute. I hid in the lower part of the ship until the coast was clear and I could go about my business. I went toward the leader's area, but was stopped. I held my breath as the trooper looked me over.
"Soldier 626, you were sent on a mission today. Why have you not embarked?"
"Must have overslept." I hit the guard and grabbed my gun and saber, prepared for a fight. Nobody came.
I heard the start of clapping from above me, "Well done Fray. You managed to breach a ship, listen to my radio conversation from oh twelve years ago when my father murdered your parents."
"Octon! Show yourself you snitch." He appeared from behind the leader. Sunken eyes, wrinkled features, and white hair sprouting from his catlike ears. That was him, "You coward! Why didn't you kill me instead?"
His voice was low and scratchy, "Because it was a deal I made with her father."
"Her?"
"The leader is the daughter of Tsao Kai, ruler of all beings. That was, until your parents set a trap on the book to kill him." He chuckled, "He was a great man, but your parents ruined him. All of his work went to waist, until this daughter of his finally appeared."
"Fine. Remove your mask daughter of Tsao. Fight like the woman you really are, " I challenged.
