"You mean that jerk? No way! I am sure there must be some hidden agenda behind his sweetness and help. I don't trust that guy at all," she said throwing her hands in the air.

I bit my lip and said, "No, Nina. We always misunderstood him, and I think," I paused to look at her, "I trust him now."

She blinked, and her eyebrows furrowed. "Now?"

I nodded. "Yeah, we spent four hours together, and he told me many things about his past, which I think he never shared with anyone. He is not a bad guy, Nina. He wasn't like this before. It was the situation that forced him to become like this."

She shook her head. "A jerk is always a jerk."

"Nina, you need to give him a chance," I replied in a firm voice.

She stared at me for a few minutes then sighed, "Okay. If you say so, but be careful. Don't let him mess with you again."

I nodded and gave her a hug. It was easier than expected. I thought she would freak out after hearing about this, but thank god she has a good understanding of the situation. Suddenly, her stomach growled, which turned her red with embarrassment.

I laughed and said, "Let me change, and then, we will head out to breakfast." I walked towards the bathroom and closed the door.

We were back from the trip, and now, I had been studying for the past three hours. Suddenly, I heard a knock at my door.

"Who's there?" I shouted.

The door cracked open, revealing Nina in a tight, strapless, mid-thigh black dress. She had a bit of extra makeup on with smoky eyes and red lipstick, and her hair was ironed straight. I looked at her from head to toe and made a whistle. She rolled her eyes and went straight to my closet.

"Why are you dressed like that?" I asked, but she ignored me. I saw her opening my closet. "What are you doing?" I asked, getting up from my bed and walking towards her.

"Finding a dress for you," she replied casually and started rummaging through it.

"What? Why?" I said, almost shocked and confused at the same time.

She stopped and turned to face me. "Because we are going to a party. It's Noah's birthday tomorrow, and this is the perfect chance to sort out everything."

"I'm not a party person. Plus, I don't want to ruin his mood. He didn't even invite me," I said disappointed.

"C'mon, Jessica. Don't think too much. He would be happy, trust me. Besides, it's my party, too," she said, giving me a flat look.

I furrowed my eyebrows, and then, it hit me. Shit!

"Oh, I'm so sorry, Nina. How could I forget? It's your birthday, too. I just didn't remember that you both are twins."

"I'm glad you realized now," she said sarcastically.

"I'm sorry, please?" I said, making a puppy-dog face.

She chuckled, giving me a big smile and said, "Just kidding. We never mentioned each other birthdays, so it wasn't your fault. Chill!"

"But I didn't get anything for you," I pouted.

"No problem. I can get my gift anytime." She grinned and added, "Now, get ready."

"Of course. Anytime." I smiled and nodded.

"Yay!" she said excitedly and turned again. "You don't have a dress?" she asked, still looking in the closet.

"Yup," I said, stretching the 'p.' "I don't have one," I added and laughed slowly.
