Chapter 1

Annabeth POV

Beep. Beep. Beeep.

Ugh. My hand groped for the snooze button, but I reached too far and tumbled off the bed, landing on the floor tangled in blankets. I jumped up and threw the alarm clock across the room.

Today I was going to start my first day at Goode High School. Why, you might ask? To surprise my seaweed brain of a boyfriend, Percy Jackson.

His mom and stepdad, Sally and Paul, knew and had insisted that I live with them and Percy after today. I was currently living in a smelly hotel room.

I got dressed in dark blue jeans, a grey t-shirt, black converse, owl earrings, and my camp necklace. My dagger was strapped to my waist under my shirt and my Yankees cap was in my back pocket. (AN: BOO YANKEES!! I'M A RED SOCKS FAN!! No offense.)

I tamed my blonde hair and pulled it into a ponytail. For a last touch, I put on a bit of dark eye shadow and mascara, the way my best friend Piper Mclean had showed me. Like myself, she hated make-up.

I looked at the clock. My heart threatened to burst out of my chest. 7:00. Time to leave for school. Time to see Percy.

Percy POV

"Yo Percy!" I turned away from my locker to see my friends walking towards me. There was Amber and James, and Danny and Avery.
I was looking at a picture of the Seven after the Giant War. We were all smiling and laughing. Piper was on Jason's back, Hazel was standing in front of Frank while Leo did the bunny ears to him. Annabeth was in my arms and was smiling brightly.

My friends came up behind me and Danny snatched to picture away from me. "Hey!" I protested. They all crowded around me and Danny, curious. They looked at the picture he was holding.
"Is that your pretend girlfriend?" Avery asked. I glared playfully at her. "No!! And it is not photoshopped," I protested. The others snorted.
"It's true!" I said. "Her name is Annabeth. Here, I'll show you a video."
I took out my monster-proof phone that Leo had made me and got to the video. Everyone watched.

It showed Leo's elvish face. "Okay, who ever is watching this. Do NOT show Percy or Annabeth because I do NOT want to die. I assisted Travis and Connor in pranking them but I am currently hiding in a tree so you guys can see it happen." He moved the camera so it showed my cabin. Me and Annabeth were standing in the doorway, kissing and saying good night. Travis and Conner were on the roof, watching us. They dropped some weird looking balls and they erupted around us, splattering us in neon paint and glitter while we jumped around, swearing and cursing in Greek and English. We spotted the Stolls and ran after them while they screamed for help. Annabeth caught Conner while I got Travis. We dragged them to the Demeter cabin to see Katie. They were both pale and sweating. Once Katie slapped them upside their heads and scolded them, Me and Annabeth high-fived each other while Leo was whisper-laughing in the tree.

The video ended. My friends didn't move.
James and Danny whistled.
"Man, she is hot!" James said. I scowled with Amber.
Avery frowned at Danny.
Before I could say anything, someone jumped on my back and covered my eyes.
Before I judo-flipped them, I smelt lemons. Only one person I know smells like lemons. "Guess who?" The person said.
"Annabeth?!"
