The Trip

It all started out on a normal morning but this morning was unusual the house was quieter than usual not a word was heard. I wondered why it was so quiet so I decided to go downstairs to see if anyone was awake. When I got downstairs I realized that the only reason the house was so quiet was because everyone left and I was unaware of it. I wondered where my family had gone but no need to worry about them they probably just went to the store to go buy groceries. So I decided to go make a sandwich because it sounded super good at the moment. As I was making my sandwich I heard a knock on the door, I wondered who it could be since my family would have just opened the door. I went to go see who it was a to my surprise it was my friend that I haven't talked to since high school which ended last summer. I asked what she was doing her and wondered why she came to see me after all this time. I noticed that she had a van with some other people in it and I asked "why are there so many people with you?" She asked me "Marcus would you like to go on a road trip with all of us?" Obviously I said yes, who wouldn't pass up that offer to hang out with some friends and go on an amazing trip.

Before I left I was way too lazy to text my parents and plus they never answer the phone anyways. I left a note on the fridge saying "I've gone on a little road trip with my friends I will text you once I get to a rest stop or something." I went to gather all my things I needed for the trip and realized I lost my phone somewhere. Desperately looking for it I asked misty if she could call it. Luckily I found it and I finished packing. I asked Misty where we are going to go on this road trip. She answer with "we are going everywhere Marcus" and I just nodded and thinking hopefully we don't die out there.

When I got to Mistys silver van I seen who was in the van there was some of my favorite people in high school. There was Jessica, Madi, Linnea, Trevor, Tori, Peter and Patricia. I was hoping I would have seen my other really close friends during high school but Misty told me that everyone was busy with their lives. Something that sucks when you get older. "First thing is first" Misty says "we must go get gas because I realized I forgot to get some." We all laughed so hard. I've missed all of them so much and I felt like I haven't laughed like this in so long.

As we pulled up to the gas station we all get out and run into the little store and grab as many snacks as possible without realizing how much we were grabbing the total price was $85.35 we just laughed and ended up buying it anyways. We were all fueled up and ready to go Misty said that our first stop will be Moab which was only about 3-4 hours away so by the time we get there it would be about 7 Pm. Since it was the middle of the July it was pretty hot outside and as we were driving the heat was driving us all crazy. All of a sudden Misty's air conditioner stopped working Jessica went crazy she said that she needed to get some cold air or she would die. We realized that we needed to stop before she went crazy in the car.

We stopped at a rest stop and I realized that I never text my parents. So I take out my phone and message them really quick and we continue on our trip to everywhere. While we were driving we noticed that there were little bugs swarming around the van and we wondered why they were doing that so Trevor decided to go out and investigate what they were doing. We heard a loud scream and we ran to go see what had happened. Trevor wasn't hurt but what we saw was horrifying. It was a dead deer that looked like it was ran over and then cut up into pieces. Mistys was so terrified that she had to run back to to van without saying a word. We all got back into the van and it was silent for about half an hour.

I realized that we needed something to "pretend" that never happened so I turned on the radio to see what was on. It was Jessica's favorite song in the whole wide world Fancy by Iggy Izalea. We all stared jamming out to the song singing it and dancing in the van and the other cars around us thought that we were all crazy it was pretty funny. We all just forgot about the deer thing and I was glad that we did because now we could actually talk to each other. We were about an hour away from Moab when we had realized that we were all starving and to our surprise Misty had brought her portable stove with her special ramen. We were all so excited when we see her take it out her ramen which was the best ever and we haven't had it in about two years. When Misty finally finished the ramen we all grabbed a fork and ate the whole pan not caring how much we ate. It tasted just like how it did back in high school the flavor was amazing. We all had a great time eating the ramen in the middle of nowhere and we all go back into the van and started heading off to the destination.
