Nick hadn't been particularly set on dating. He was more of a flirting and a make-out session type of guy. It wasn't until Grace Russell that he truly began to want more than that. He's experiencing first love and it never felt so painful. Grace is oblivious to his feelings for her (and frankly, he'd like to keep them a secret.) Nick also thinks it's better to pine from afar and indulge in teen angst. He'd rather have her as friend than have her as nothing at all. But he knows he can't ignore the burning in his chest, butterflies in his stomach, and nervousness that swells inside when he's with Grace.

Author's Note, This is a fast burn on Nick's feelings towards Grace and a SLOW BURN on the actual relationship of Nick and Grace. I'm republishing and fixing up this plot.
